I'm in on this, my truck has a mostly non-functional electrical system...well, everything seems to work some of the time, but there always seems to be at least two things non-functional at any given time...:rolleyes: Its like if it starts, the wipers probably wont work, if the wipers work, the headlights are out...:D

the "I had an old truck frame so I threw a Model T body on it, and had some shop cl*** kids fab up a bunch of sheet metal parts, but they were only allowed to use a brake press, and now it's been for sale online for a decade because it's just to damn ugly for the money he wants."

Fake blowers to me would be the worst, I guess people really do that now and then. I have been asked by several people if my blower is functional, I tell them, my boost gauge sure says it is, and my shorts!

  8. Ohhh They sure make great sweater stuffers, and nice and fun for EVERYONE else to look at.
Now when it counts, when no else is there and the sweater is on the floor they are clearly a useless add on.

  10. This seems really useless

    4 into 1 - step up - 1 into 4 - 4 into 1

All that just so there looks like there are 4 pipes hanging out of the fender.

Plus, they do have a couple of functions that come to mind...just sayin.

Padded push up bras, now that's just plain deceptive... like those fake spot lights and Big Daddy's carb hats.

I believe the word we are searching for in this thread is POSER.

SIRENS....The cruisers in the Riverside area think they are cool with sirens as they cruise low and slow.
While on patrol at Ft. Ord, Ca. in 1993, we had a couple of clowns who thought they were low rider cruisers and had sirens on the low riders. Guess who pulled them over when they blasted their ***hole sirens on post that one time they were caught doing it...I DID ! HAHAHAAHA(evil laugh) Their cars were confi****ed for "PRETENDING TO BE FIRST RESPONDERS" and BEING A TRAFFIC NUISANCE. Towed on the spot and not allowed to un-hook them.

*********** move? Really? Sirens on POV's in traffic? Now, that's a *********** move. Blowing your siren to make people move out of your way or trying to pull someone over is a FELONY in the State of California and anyplace in the military. Rules and regulations are in place for a reason. So, we do our job and it's "***********"? Soldiers with common sense don't do stupid **** but knuckleheads do. I would do it again in heart beat. No qualms about it.

Try to drive on a military installation in Texas while you have blue head lights or marker lights turned on your vehicle. It is a moving violation since the first responders have blue and red lights. I racked up seven moving violations in one night due to vehicles with blue lights at FT.Bliss, TX. "ALL" soldiers and civilian employees are given the written rules of the duty station and must attend the Post Defensive Driving Cl*** when processing in the new duty station. No excuses.

California requires two plates on vehicles using the road ways. One on the front and one on the rear unless the vehicle is exempt, i.e., older vehicles of such. I laugh every time I see some ***** with a chevy/ford/mopar/ club plate or some other plate on the front pulled over by the locals. They don't always do it but it's the law.

I'm retired now and I loved my job as an M.P.

I care. Why? Because I like mechanical things and the different ways guys present them. If someone tells me that he's got a 327 SBC in his car, I want to not only see it, but I want to know what he did with it. Later on, if it turns out to be a fluffed up 350, I am genuinely disappointed and confused as to why he would LIE.

Well I see it this way, unless the lowrider was really pretending to be a cop (or first responder) the fact that they wailed a siren (as lowriders are known to do as part of lowrider culture) then they're really not guilty of IMPERSONATING a first responder. May be guilty of some noise violation, but that's probably a citation without an impound.

As far as license plates go, probably half the states only require one plate, so there's really no cause for anyone to get their ******* in a bunch for a missing front plate.

I get where you're coming from, but that seems like a ticket offense, instead of taking someone's ride.

No, Fred. Not on a military installation or any where else in the country. When they are purposely impeding the flow of traffic by making vehicles pull to the side or trying to pull someone over, it is not a citation offense. It's a felony.
Common sense comes into play here. Now, just blowing the siren to make noise and not trying to impede the flow of traffic in any way is only making noise. There is a difference.

I agree with what you're saying, but as far as low riders or any other vehicle blowing a siren to impede the flow of traffic or to attempt to pull anyone over to the side of the road, by playing games or pretending to be a cop on a military installation and anywhere else in the country, is a felony. It's not a game. It's not cool. It's ****ing stupid.

Noise is noise and a felony is a felony.

I also agree about the front plates but I still laugh. But, the law is the law in California and does not apply to out of state vehicles until they are registered in California.

So, yeah, I hate sirens on POV's.

Okay, further details make the difference. If that's what they were doing, then job well done.

Yes, pretending to be a cop is a very bad thing and should be discouraged with every tactic law enforcement can muster.
Lowriders use old centrifugal sirens as functional accessories, just like Hot Rodders and Customs use Ooh-Gah horns and wolf whistles. A little wail here and there shouldn't merit an impound.
Now, what civilian is going to believe that a low rider with an antique siren is a cop? That's a sight I'd like to see.

I always thought La Cucaracha horns should be considered a felony. Note to self: Stay the F off military bases.
