I hate these things!!!....I get outta town a couple miles, and trucks new and old got these droopy water-balloons on them....tacky and useless, and yes, I ''did'' call them ''water-balloons'' for politeness points! hotrodballs1-300x200.jpg

People do pull over for them because they don't know where it is coming from until it is on top of them and then they call the police. It is illegal on any military reservation to blast any siren in traffic unless it is a first responder. It is also illegal in any state to blast a siren in moving traffic and states have their own laws to deal with it. The military requires an impound of the vehicle in this situation. And we do it. I would do it again and again except that I am now retired. I really don't give a **** what anyone thinks about the situation.

Can't recall exactly when but in the late 50's early 60's there were a few incidents of people using sirens and red lights to pull people over--some were robbed-some were killed.

Probably people who respect the law. Hell, our M.P. sirens used to sound the exact same way. We had them on our M151A1 Jeeps, our K-CARS and Mavericks.

Look up M.P. Jeep. You'll see our sirens on the fender. Same sound that the cruisers use.

I remember, years ago, I was working at the Texas Medical Center and this guy drives by with about 20 hood ornaments on his car. The memory STILL haunts me.:)

At least the guy with 20 hood ornaments wasn't trying to misrepresent anything the way Posers do.

Talking about fake ''add-ons''....Flathead Ford valve covers on a SBC....I wonder if anybody ever notices the 8 spark plugs & wires on each side???........personally, I'd be embarr***ed to open my hood with these valve covers on, but hey....I got a real flathead, so I might be a bit biased! valvecovers.jpg 8ea92c552c96f7976647ba740f941270.jpg

How about those covers that look like a" quick change" rear end that you could put on a ford 9". If you want a quick change, put a quick change in!

  18. How about quick change rear that no body ever changes? That's dumber because they cost a pretty penny

  20. What if it has a Rover or Jag engine and needs that oil reservoir to make it home?

Not long ago on the HAMB there was a post from a Poser inquiring about hanging a tach on his steering column but not hooking it up electrically as he would be the only one who knew it didn't work. Why not hook it up? It couldn't take more then 30-45 Minutes. Now on this thread we've entered the realm of an inoperative cable drive tach with a vacuum hose masquerading as the drive cable. At least those fake Moon tanks can serve a purpose as a relief tube receptacle. I'll bet 99.99% of those quick change rear end cars have never been near a drag strip. It seems as if the statement "It Is What It Is" doesn't mean anything to a lot of people. Then again as long as there have been Hot Rods there have always been Posers.

About those Old's valve covers. I'd run them, if they didn't have Oldsmobile on them. It's actually a good way to route the wires.

Fibergl*** bodies when the owner says he has a '32 ford , for instance. Try doing that at an Auburn, Cord, Dusenburg show. They'll skin you alive.

For crying out loud, it'a replica.. !!!
