Hey all. I'm from the land of Squeak bell and Duane Jones. Co-building my first rod, a '40 Ford pickup. It's been an old drag truck at some stage and has a 6" chop, z'd frame with 4 link and 9", one piece gl*** front and modern front end (I know, I know, I woulda I-beamed it). No shots at present as it's under a cover on the driveway, but it'll be moved into the shop this weekend so I'll shoot it. I also dabble in automotive art and photography. I'd love chance to draw some of the cars on here.
Howdy. Does your truck have any traces of candy red on it ? Just asking, cos it sounds a bit like Steve Wells' old truck.
Actually, you're not the first person to mention his name. The steering column, 4 link bars and rear guards are candy/metalic red. The cab is currently in primer but has evidence of holes in the back where roll bars were fitted. The doors have signs of lime and dark green but these may not be original. Roof chop is awesomely done. Will post pics as soon as possible.
Here re a few pics of the truck. We only just moved it to the new workshop today, so excuse the stuff laying around. We also managed to uncover my friends '63 vette which had been buried under trash for 7 years.
