Hello all. Ive been lurking around for a few months now but finally decided to register! First off my name is Tony and from Miami. I bought my 52 GMC all original from a guy(this guy buys and flips cars) who bought it from the second owner in NC back in Sept 13 as an early Bday gift. Yes I drove all the way up there with a uhaul trailer and picked her up. She had been in a garage for 25 years and the motor had been removed for a V8 swap and never completed. The 228 was just thrown in there not bolted down or anything. Needless to say she was in the best condition that I had found in my budget. Though she needed work I towed her back home. Well started disassembling and long story short led me to about a week ago where I got her running. She started on the dime and burnt off old oil and grease for about 20-30 min. Tuned that carb and purred like a kitten. Best FEELING ever!! :):) Well after running her in the backyard and finding out the clutch engages and all the goodies, it was time to purchase all the weatherstripping and new tires to get her on the road. Well a few days ago I noticed water coming from the block on the drivers side. Well when I cleaned it up to investigate I have a hairline crack that's about 7 inches long. So now shes back to just sitting. I'm currently working on a deal with the guy I purchased the truck from to get a 248 down here to put in Ol' Lucy. I was always taught to never burn your bridges, and it worked out! Sorry for the long story line but hey it pretty much brings everyone to where I am at now. I have attached a pic of what she looked like right when I picked her up.

Once I get the 228 out which will hopefully be in the next couple weeks, Ill clean up the engine bay really well and I will go wire by wire and hide everything and replace it. I love clean looks. I've rewired boats and a couple engine bays and this will most definitely be cake. The interior I really don't plan on doing much right away, I thought about painting it and putting the vinyl floormat and reupholstering the seats but for now everything goes with the patina style I was looking for. Then once the 248 arrives at my doorstep I'll slap that puppy in and hopefully be on the road by next month. Ive ordered the clutch already since everything is going to be disassembled might as well replace it. For now Ill shut up. Looking forward to see some interesting builds and entertaining a few ideas for Ol' Lucy!

Hello from the thumb! The first vehicle I ever tried to buy was a 53 Chevy truck. The man wanted $300 bucks, I offered $200 and he wouldn't come down. My dad advised me to walk away. That was 1976. Wish I would have bought it.
