    Hi all,

I am a long time lurker, recently registered...awed by the info and knowledge here. Grew up a stone's throw from E'Town Raceway Park, I have pics and films from as far back as 1970, and I cut my teeth listening to my Dad talk about draggin' at Westhampton driving his Anglia rod.

I once owned a '59 Chevy sedan delivery, 348ci with a column shift, but these days I drive a '66 E-Type and a '67 Honda CL/77 - (I guess I went Beach Boys and Poodle skirt, not good for an East Coaster:eek: ).

Anyway, looking one day to do a '60s Nova or Falcon, AF/X style. Although it's a few years now, I nearly solied my shorts when I saw Magnante's Nova - so that's stuck with me. I never cared much for the clean look a la Lil' John or Boyd, even though the craftsmanship is great, my pref is something a little more junkyard or home brewed.

    Leaky,

Glad to be here! I know Allenhurst well - I once had an awesome job as a valet back in the mid-80s, and a buddy of mine lived there. We worked at the Berkeley Carteret when the Vaccaros were trying to rebuild Asbury...

I met the "Man in Black" when I was working there! I also met Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme (also investors!)...interesting stuff.

I do want to go to the Old Time Drags, but I may not be able to make it (other commitment). Funny story, I took my 2 young girls to a Formula 1 race not long ago - they were so frightened that I am pretty much not taking them to any races!!!

If I am free, I'll PM you....

I'm in South Plainfield, but I used to work in Parlin. I spend time down at ChopOlds's shop in Howell too. Welcome to the board

I have some decent shots from around 1975 of a few cool cars - Don Schumacher, Jungle Jim, Billy Meyer, and a Swensen & Lani car. My scanner blows, I tried to scan but they look like crap. Maybe I can scan at work...

IS - The only club I know local to me is the Freehold Kruisers. If you are into old bikes (I have a '67 Honda CL77), there was a group called the Fossil Rider - the preferred English/American Iron, so my "rice" was excluded, but they had some cool bikes (old Matchless', Triumphs, etc.
