This weekend Abe and I went up north to pickup some parts and a wagon for a new project of his. On the way back we stopped at Big M Auto in Williams for a few parts for my mopar.

This place is overwhelming to say the least! John runs the place and is a real standup guy... he's got a pile for everything and if he doesn't have it, he knows where to get it.

Here's a link to the rest of the photos from his yard...

even a barn of engines piled upon engines...

Before we left, we were asking them if they knew a good place to drop the wagon off the trailer to turn it around. The weight was on the back end and giving the trailer a mean wobble at 55. Their reply, "Shoot, let's do it here with our forklift. We do it all the time and it's quick." Never have I seen someone lift a car this way... insanely awsome.

Hey Purple, it was nice to meet you and your family this weekend. Yep, he was just turning the wagon around. All the weight ended up on the back of the trailer which made for a rocky drive from Redding down to Big M's. We figured they'd know a good place to turn it around to get the weight to the front of the trailer and next thing we know they're helping us with it.

His prices are very fair. He was asking $3000 for that Edsel wagon and it was pretty straight.

We had fun, even if the twins were too tired at dinner. That's the most they've acted up around food.

Come up again and I'll take you guys to Gustovson's yard. It's just as cool as Big M.

There was so much buried there it's hard to say. I'd call John though... he knows what he's got. Plus even if he doesn't have any, he'd know where to get some.

  11. Thanks for posting Mel, BTW Mel, helped a lot on driving the truck with the trailer attached through the Tehachapi pass and through the MT Shasta roads. She kicks ass! It was a great trip, good meeting Purple. And seeing the state of Northern Ca.
For Big M questions, he's go most everything between 56-59 mopar of ford. Chevies are a bit harder to find at the yard but there are some. Just write him an email and he'll tell you all he's got.

That's funny, I'm emailing him back and forth right now about a '59 Plymouth convert in my area that he is looking to buy. Seems like a good guy, damn sure got a lot of parts. And that ain't a '58 Fury, but it is a '57 Plymouth coupe.
