Event Coverage NorCal - what's the best two weeks between now and Sept?

My daughter just moved to San Jose, and I have a free airline ticket that I need to use before the end of September. If you had to pick two weeks between now and Sept 30 for the best car events in Northern California, what would the dates be? I was to the August show at Pleasanton once, would go again, and I've read the posts about the HAMB event in Penngrove, that looks like the best bang for the buck. I would consider flying to Bonneville in Aug, and driving to San Jose, if that would fit in better with some other car shows/events/races/meets/ HAMB and eggs. What's going on around then?

  2. The Revolucion (Pennegrove) and the Lucky Bastards run will be epic. Billetpoof, will be around that time too.

Yeah I'd say Sept. Hit BilletProof. It's two days this year.

Billetproof in Antioch,Midnight Mass in Sacramento(2 1/2 hours from SJ) GG West Coast Nats (for 'chainer overload) in Pleasanton(40 minutes fromSJ).
Not sure if the Strangers are putting their show at Kelly Park (in SJ) this year. That's always a great show.
If you are here late in September there's the Tbirds on the Wharf in Santa Cruz Sept 26.

I haven't gone since they moved it to Cal Expo but this has always been one of my favorite shows. Highly suggested.:)

Thanks for the suggestions, looks like it may take two trips, one in July, and again in Sept.

  11. The 3 summer car shows I always look forward to are:

Sat June 13 Road Zombies CC Car Show & BBQ - Elk's Lodge, Santa Clara, CA - Lots of cars, good bands, great raffles, plenty of cheap cold beer, very laid back family-style setting with BBQ. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish. Lots of local car clubs turnout and there's always a fun after-party in-store.

Sun July 12 The Strangers CC Car Show & BBQ - Historic Kelly Park, San Jose, CA - Tons of cars all spread out through this really cool historic park with a real sode fountain, usually BLAZING HOT, vendors, pretty laid back crowd. It's on a Sunday, and they don't allow alcohol in the park (city rules) so that's kind of a drag, BUT it's a good, clean, family event.

Sat July 25 The Poor Boys CC Midnight Mass Car Show - Cal Expo, Sacramento, CA - LOADS of cars on a big open asphalt parking lot, tons of vendors, pinup contest, great bands. Lots of boozing and it's usually blazing hot! Bring a canopy. They have a pre-party and an after-party so you could really make a weekend of it. The only negative about the Mass is the small population of random little gangbangers and losers that come out and mess up the local hotels. Aside from that, it's one hell of a party.

That won't be happening this year as we have moved to a different lacation on CaExpo with lots of shade and light, plus we will be regulating the crowd better. No afterparty at the hotel this year just hanging out in the parking lot with hotels blessing. Other than that everything is the same as described.

  13. Awesome! That's great news.... looking forward to the show.
