Always try to have a good dirty joke at the ready for him;he loves it!
    Years ago he asked me
"What are the two words you never want to hear in a men's room?"

    "Nice Dick!"

I met him several years ago at the Tulsa show. I was walking by and he yelled something at me and I went over and he just talked to me like we'd known each other all our lives. I think he is a very good guy.

I saw him at Louisville several years ago and I watched as several people walked up to him, shook his hand and said something like " Hi Norm, I met you before at _______ back in 199X, good to see you blah blah blah".

So, I walked up to him, shook his hand and said "You've never seen me before in your life" and he replied "And I never want to see you again".

    Funny guy.

Awsome Man! I have talked to him several times. He was a personal friend to Sean Vesely another great friend of mine who passed away in 2008. I called Norm to let him know of Seans passing and we talked for more than an hour. He told me of a lot of good times he and Sean had. Just a really great dude!

Met Norm in Pleasenton many years ago. K-MEMBER and I were sitting in the bar at the fairgrounds and Norm rode in on a push scooter, wearing shorts, high top red Vans and a Viking hat on his head. "Give these guys anything they want and give me something with an Umbrella in it". Sat with him and Mel Blank Jr. tellin stories for hours. Great Guy!!!!!

I met him at a Hot Rod Power Tour at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
It was funny, I was eyeing his poster of the Kookie car "now and then" and he came up to me, put his arm around my shoulder and said, "what can I do for you son?".
He smoozed me into buying some posters with autographing sharpie ready hand, who could turn down a guy like that?

A friend of mine and I were coming in late to the motel in Columbus ready to turn in for the night. After parking who would pull up but Norm. I complimented him on his truck (the '37) and that's all it took for him to get started. He related how he bought it and all of the construcion details. We ended up sitting on the curb for over an hour listening to stories and jokes and sharing a drink. Finally, he said, "It's late for a youngster like me to be out without adult supervision. I think I'll get to bed." He talked to us like he had known us for years. A great guy and I'm glad he is a hot rodder.

    On that note...
This year I saw him at Louisville with the t-bucket and told him I wanted a picture. So there we are making our way over to take a picture. Turned out that all of the shots on the way to were way better than the posed shot at the car. Good memories for a lifetime, great guy!

Here is Norm's original LA Roadsters membership card #10 in Jack Stewart's LA Roadsters book.
In the early 70's, some of the club members would see Norm perform at a local bar doing his famous "Whistle" with his mouth closed act!---Plus other antics he was famous for, a real showman indeed!!!
For those of you that don't know, Norm builds giant sized wood rocking horses that are a great item to behold!!-------------Don:D:D

I had a great talk with Normiepoo an the LA roadsters meet a few years ago. He had abooth there and in the middle of it sat an enormous rocking horse he had carved. He was very happy and eager to show off the under side of the horse and point out the anatomically correct features. It was a male horse that had not been gelded. the experience added a whole new demention to the term "woodie"!

  26. Hey Megan, watch that Norm fella, I hear he's a bigger pervert than I am; and I mean that as a sincere compliment!
Here's an Andy Southard photo from '61 with Norm in front to one of my favorite Ts, Gary Heliker's.
