Hey guys, I'm just wondering what a normal temp would be for a stock 51 ford with an 8ba? In the warm weather mine is running between 195 and 205. Is this too high? Am I going to hurt my motor?

    Thanks, Eric

Bit high. Timing or crappy stock distributor. You might choose to participate in Fordbarn.com to learn more. A search there will reveal volumes.

205 won't hurt it, but there is not much leeway for additional heating, like a big hill or following another heat producer and sucking in all his heat.
As long as it doesn't lose water, its okay, but I would try some tricks to cool it off some. A better distributor will make 20 degrees difference over the stock crappy setup.

GMC Bubba electronic. Good piece and the price can't be beat.

  7. Have you had your radiator checked? What thermostat are you running and how old is it. Make sure those are ok then check the timing.
