I agree on all points. They really nailed it with the Corvairs styling. The LM is beautiful as well. I just feel that the EM has the most character.

I have a start up video of the Vair after doing a running valve adjustment I would like to post. I don't have a YouTube account and don't really want to open a account.

So I haven't added to this in a while. I was wanting to ask everyone there opinion on some wheels choices.
I dig the Ansen Sprints but they have some flaws that bother me. So I am going to have the refurbished. In the mean time I have factory steelies powder coated semi flat black with new thin WW tires. I'm thinking spider caps and trim rings.
Option 2 Find a set of chrome reversed and remount the tires on the chromies.
Moose worked his magic on both options.
What do you guys/gals think.

 

Chrome Reverse are getting my vote, the black steelies are just not cl***y enough for such a nice car!

If you must run thin whites... chrome.

I think Corvairs look weird with pinners, but have always like an early with factory wheels, caps, and blackwalls if running steel. My opinion only. I know everybody and their uncle ran whites on these.

 

I'm on the fence whether to go with black walls or pinners.
I was thinking the chrome wheels are the ticket. The problem is going to be finding chrome wheels in the correct size. 13" wheels are getting very hard to find and to me the 61 looks best with this diameter. I would have the OEM wheels chromed but there isn't a shop that can do it in Anchorage any longer.
So for now I'm at a stand still. ****

 

I would imagine buying vintage hotrod parts in Alaska is a tad more difficult than here in flyover land. Wishing you good luck!!
