I've known about this place for a while. But up until recently the guy didn't want to sell anything. He doesn't want to sell the Ford stuff if he can help it, but the other makes seem to be easier to get him to let go of. These pics are just what you can see from the road. I'm going back next week to talk to him some more and see if he'll show me the rest of the stuff and let me take some pics of all of it. Just thought I'd share .
Looks like a gold mine...or silver at least. Stashes of old iron like that are getting fewer and fewer...is that a '35 or '36 3-window coupe behind the shoebox with the blue tarp over the window?? Brian
yeah I just replied to the other post, but***** that, where is THIS place. If it's raliegh area I'll be up there SOON.
NO NO MINE MINE I ASKED FIRST LOL J/K See how us NC guys get when we smell old tin....we need more tin here
OK guys I guess there is a lot of interest in this place. The guy is real nice and I have no problems with helping put you guys in touch with him, I can show or give directions, all I ask is that you guys give me a chance to talk to him again and let him know what is going on. I really don't want to piss him off. I want him to be cool about people coming by to check the stuff out. I'm usually in my shop all day Sat and Sun and have no problems with taking anyone out there to see it. I just don't want to screw up what could be a really good thing. I've also got a couple lines on some other stashes that aren't to far from Raleigh (mostly on the South side of town). Like I said earlier I am going out there again next weekend and am going to try and let me walk back into his property and take more pics. What you see is only what is visable from the road.
Oh and I did see some 28-31 coupes and also have a line on a where a few others are. I tried following up on 2 29' pick-ups today and a 38 Packard, but they turned out to be gone. If any of you guys want to get together about maybe trying a bulk purchase from the guy. I'd be down with that. But also like I said "he does not like to let the Ford stuff go". I'm hoping I can find a 30's Buick or Chevy in the back part of his property. Let me know what you guys think. If need be email me directly (it's in my profile).
hey zman, i know some guys from raliegh, so who the hell are you? I just wanna make sure I"m not talking to somebody I already know, and just don't know it. That's happened to me before on here. I could probaly make arrangements to come up there next weekend to go walk the property lines too...heh. I know of some things I might could give details on too if I were so inclined. They're places that I HAVE to go to though, cos the man doesn't want people to find out about all hsi***** cos he's scared of the county people making him get rid of it.
I would love to go check this place out.I can't buy anything now but it would rule just to go out there and take some pics and do some sketches.
I will try and answer all questions I can. Like I said I'm trying to go back out there next weekend (weather permitting) and take some more pics, ask him some questions, try to get more of a rapport with the guy. I've known about this place for a while and have heard stories of all kinds of people getting turned away by the guy. I'm trying to develop a better situation for the long haul than just get a car I want and run.

I have a pretty big shop out back of my house. Actually just put in a lift a couple of weeks ago. Got a plasma cutter yesterday. Sometimes I'm not the most social guy in the world (I don't go out to the bars much anymore, especially the trendy crowded ones) I prefer to hang out with the old lady and work on my own stuff. You can check out the links to my site http://www.rod-o-rama.com to see what I've been doing. It's not that upto date but it's there.
That looks like a guy who really cares about his junk. Not just one of those "I'm gonna restore it someday"******s. Most prople don't take the time to mow and trim around their old cars. I can see myself having a place like that when I get old. -Bugman Jeff
