still sittin' here in boring ol' hickory(newton really). to many cars to little garage space. hopefully one's leaving in a coupla weeks so i can have more room for the others. as soon as the '55 plymouth leaves i'm gonna start the redo on the '64 buick. playing with one of those bastard to this board aircooled cars right now for fun. driving a 40 year old car and getting 30+mpg sounds reaaallll appealing right now...ken....

What? There are bars here? Naw. :D

Yeah, the fall show is the weekend of October 20th. The spring one had some decent traditional stuff to look at. BUT August 19 is the Funkmaster Flex Celebrity Car Show!!!! I'm going to it. But only in the hopes that there's a booty shakin' contest.

    Any more N.C guys around?

  12. Yep. Hanging out here at the Crystal Coast. Seems like all the shows are up in your neck of the woods. Hickory is a 6hr drive from here. Then again the best fishing is a 6 hr drive from there.

Will there be BEER at said quilting bee?If so....Im in!

  20. Let's do it! I'll bring my quilting frame and some fabric squares and some thread...Not! A spelling bee would be more fun. How about just a cruise-in and bullshit session. I'll supply a scrub shirt embroidered with something catchy for every member that shows up. Dr. Hot Rod or maybe NC HAMB Operator

One POSSIBLE idea is to time the meet with the cruise night at Grill '57. It's not unusual for them to get 200+ cars there, and it would be cool as hell to roll a bunch of HAMB rides from Kulture (zman's bar) to G-57 (it's a straight shot from downtown). Plus it would give out-of-towners a chance to see some of the local cars - there's usually a pretty good variety, although streetrods and muscle cars rule the day.

The "plan" might be to meet at Kulture, roll to G-57 for some grub and gawkin', and then head back to Kulture for beers and bench racing.

G-57 cruises are on the third Saturday of the month, so possible dates might be:

    August 19th
    September 16th

  27. I'd prefer sometime in September myself. It won't be quite so hot.

  28. I'm in for september. I'll also get some guys from Charlotte to make the run up.
