Hey, my name is Josh, I currently live in Southern Pines, NC but will be moving back up to Raleigh at the end of October. I drive a 49' Packard.

I'm in POLKTOWN.......or Polkton.....nothing here but a couple of gas stations and me. I was going to try to do a bbq or something here, but no one wants to come to polkton....

 

might as well come out of my lurking space and add myself to the mix, i'm in Greenville...home of nothing but college kids, man I wanna move so bad. I know Murph from my days of hotwheels collecting. I'd love to try and come up for the meet on the 16th but i'm working 2 jobs now with a kid on the way so my weekends are shot for now. Anyway i'm looking forward to eventually meeting up with you guys at some point.

Well I did find ONE junkyard with some old stuff... it sure aint like it is in colorado with old cars in most yards.

Cool. I grad'd ECU in Dec 94.... lived in Lexington (not far from you!) till I moved to TX.

 

Hey Primo,there is a junk yard close to you that used to have alot of old stuff.It is off of the Old Mountian Road exit off of I40.Chappmans if I rember corectly.

 

my wife graduated from ECU in '99. i just drank lots of beer and stumbled in the streets of greenvile and was a rockstar hahaha. man i loved greenville in the good days of CDalley and tons of good bands coming through for a few years '94-'00 or so. the last place i lived in there was a pretty nice place duplexe that was the back half of a big house so i had a nice yard and everything. cost us a whole $200 a month for a 2br place right near campus. way better than the first hole i lived in on 3rd and jarvis. curtains blew around with the windows closed. drafty, you bet. i've heard it's gone to the dogs now. all the cool shit closed etc. man i miss that place sometimes...ken....

 

I'm in concord. No good junk yards here. Just a couple good cars here and there. Don't know any car people out here except for some german engineering fans, but I don't think they're welcomed warmly to this crowd.

Keep your eyes open for these cars. I live right by the speedway but just bought a house off of Gold Hill road in Concord. Give me a shout sometime.

I'm down here in Rockingham, home of the empty Speedway. Glad to see alot of HAMBers from the state. Can't afford a ride or traveling expenses right now, gonna try to make it to Maxton someday though.

I missed this thread. Anyways I am off of Providence road in Weddington. Guess you can say south of Charlotte and 15-20 minutes from SC. I work in Rock Hill though and see a 54 chevy HT like yours above in the same color and everything but the wheels are different with wide whites. Heck I can't see the grill, is yours even a 54 or a 53? Anyways, does anyone in my neck of the woods know where I can find a 30's vehicle at that is a good project car and not with a huge price like it's trying to be sold in the Barrett Jackson Auction?
