Can't find the site, but there is a guy building a rocket to launch himself to the edge of space. He's in Bend Oregon and if memory serves, he was gonna blast off from this lakebed. Pretty amazing inventor.

Not to throw water on your parade, but if you were to need a ambulance, or part for that matter, the nearest would be in Lakeview, Burns, or Winnemucca.and you better not be hurt bad...........................

 

thats why we are looking into having an EMT crew on hand and life flight notified so they will be availabe....

 

as an aside, do we have anyone that would be willing to organize a possible saftey/tech inspection crew? more or less a list of possible qualified individuals that will be willing to essentially volunteer their time to make this happen.

also, we are toying with acrazy idea, so if all SERIOUS followers of this, those who are planning on running a vehicle, would email me at your nearest convenience.

unfortunately this idea kind of died, alot of people were "interested" but unfortunately the planning support just wasnt there. if anyone wants to plan a "camping" trip to take there car out to the dry lake, let me know.

 

Just brining up this old thread because I said I was going to test my car there.

 

Revival of this thread and idea! Would be so cool to hold some trials here. Or even a traditional hit rod campout? Oe head there before or after Hot Rod Arama in Pendleton?
