Northern IL guys and gals... Whose busy on Sunday?

I throw a car and bike show in Rockford at the airport every year. All the proceeds benefit the United Way of Rock River Valley. The last couple of years have declined and I am looking for some support. If you are interested its a good time. We will have food, music and kids activities as well. We have a plane pull going on at the same time where teams of 17 pulll a boeing 757 a set distance for the fastest time. We have 13 teams scheduled for that as well. The cool part is you get to have your car out on the tarmac of our UPS facility along side our 757 aircraft. I have dash plaques for the first 35 vehicles and trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for both car and bikes (popular vote). Entry fee is only $10. Its right off of rte 20 at the end of rte 2. Yeah I should have. Some employees have been passing around fliers for several months at various car shows but I don't know why i didn't think to put it on the HAMB until yesterday. I wanted to put it out though as I know I have talked to several people in the board who have wanted to start a car club up in the Rockford area.

 

It is pretty cool being right on the tarmac though. I wish I could get the flier attatched, we have some pics from last year. They let us take pictures with the cars/bikes right next to the 757. My trial of office 2007 expired and erased my old office and I think that is why it won't post (?). I even tried changing the file extension. If anyone wants to see it shoot me your e-mail and I will send it to you.

 

Hey Zettle.... There are some Emery guys coming. I assume that is who your friend works for. I had a call a couple of days ago from them.

This show sounds kool. Wish I would have heard about it earlier. Maybe I could take one of the cars on a lil road trip.

 

Come on up. I have no idea what the turn out is going to be as I have been on a special assignment in Dekalb for the summer and unable to do much for it.

 

Im gonna head up to the show and check it out with Project56. Hope to see some HAMBers there.

 

I won't be able to make it, I'll be out in the garage getting ready for next year- hopefully...
