Can’t believe it’s the 2025 version sneaking up so fast. July 17-20, 2025 is just around the corner so I thought I’d ask if any hammers are going.
    So, anyone else going?

Guess I’ll start. Tried to get my 32 Ford Tudor done for the 2022 edition, but didn’t get any where near close. Good news this time around, the sedan is ready.
I’ve been doing a little shakedown this summer to iron out bugs (found a few), but I’ll be ready.

  3. I and my lady plan on DRIVING up from Oregon in my highboy 30 coupe and staying for 5 days to take in this event and play tourist on the other non-car days...

I'm wondering if there are others coming from Oregon along the I-5 corridor south of Eugene...looking for traveling buddy(s) to caravan with. If no takers, we'll solo it. We are leaving Eugene about 6am Thursday July 17. Its about a 7 hour ride figuring in gas and food stops. I've got my ferry ride booked at Port Angeles Washington. Would be great if ya wanna tag along. Send me a PM or a reply here if you are interested. IMG_2672.jpg

We are going and I have the 48 registered to park in the cheap seats on Sunday and have reservations for Wednesday night though Monday at The Strathcona Hotel as I couldn't get a room where we stayed in 2019. That means my wife will have to walk about 2 blocks to the shops she likes to snoop around in on Government street.
Service on the Washington state ferries from Anacortes to Sidney has been real iffy for the past year or so and a lot of folks are using the Black Ball ferry out of Port Angeles or driving to Victoria BC to catch the ferry.
Round trip for a vehicle under 18 ft with two people from Port Angeles to Victoria is right at 214.00 You need your passport or enhanced drivers license number or other accepted to get into Canada id when you register.

The group of ~20 that I travel with is leaving Alberta on July 15 and taking the Tsawwassen ferry to Swartz Bay (on the island) the morning of the 17th. The drive into downtown Victoria from the island ferry terminal is one of my favorite sections as it’s thick with hot rods.
AND being there for when the Americans roll off the Anacortes ferry right downtown in Victoria is awesome.

The Anacortes ferry goes to Sidney. The Port Angeles ferry goes to Victoria. I reserved a spot on the Port Angeles to Victoria ferry this time because they have been having boat available issues on the Anacortes- Sidney run. That is something that everyone who is going needs to do is get your spot on the ferry reserved.

I'm driving from Edmonton, Alberta area and my wife and kid will fly. Can't book the ferry yet, but I have a room reserved right along the waterfront so that we have a home base.

Oops, my bad on which ferry docks where. Just remember last few times I’ve been to deuce days I’ve watched the ferry unload and it’s always been a blast. :D

I’m signed up. The wife and I are driving the Model A (avatar) up and making a trip of it. Just a few hundred miles and a ferry ride away. Looking forward to meeting more HAMBers.

Cant wait. Not a far trip for us being in the lower mainland of BC. But my favorite car show.

I’ve heard great things, but this will be our first time in attendance. Greatly looking forward to it.

I’ll be going on the Thursday and staying at the James Bay Inn again. The VERY BEST car event ever. Discovered it on the 2nd edition when it was held in Chilliwack BC and been to every one since. Great to see the cars cruising around and now Victoria is lowering the speed limit to 40km ph (~25mph) so easier to savour the vehicle’s as they go by.

I promised myself this time I’d have my ‘32 5W done but the last two years have been buggered due to PMR and a couple of strokes this past summer. So I’m now looking forward to Deuce Days ‘25 as well as Deuce Days ‘28!

I promised myself in 2022 I'd have my roadster there in 2025. Now I'm planning for 2028, when it's 100 years old.

You better not plan on the Anacortes Ferry. It hasn't been running the last couple years and the ferry was sent to surplus disposal along with another ferry. The Tsawwassen Ferry in BC will probably be the most popular route.

That is pretty much what I said in simpler terms.
Anacortes was great for us because we have been there a number of times with our boat and love the town but this time planning on taking a ferry from there isn't a wise idea.

It's 300 or so miles from home to the ferry dock at Port Angeles and we figure to go the day before and stay in Poulsbo or Port Townsend and toddle up to Port Angeles in time to be there a couple hours before the ferry's website says to be there. Close enough to the ferry dock that we don't have to fuss that is.

You are going to love it.
We have taken our Model A every time since 2013. It is such a fun weekend. The show setting in the harbor is amazing. I recommend doing the poker run on Sat if you can. Really fun and picturesque drive along the water and then inland a little bit, with people lining the streets in chairs to watch you cruise past.
So many great cars and people

  20. Two ferries (1 to get to off our little island/over to the mainland, and then another to get to Vancouver Island/Nanaimo) plus an hour or so cruise down island for us...we'll be there in our 3 window with much of our CanAm Curmudgeon contingent. 20240628_102905.jpg .

You will love it, it is 32 Ford overload all weekend with the show on Sunday.
I went in 2019 photo album here https://robertdavison.smugmug.com/Deuce-Days-Victoria-BC-2019
and had entered for 2022 but life got in the way that year.

One suggestion that I have is buy a hell of a good pair of walking shoes that you can stand to walk for hours on end in. If you stay in what is referred to the "harbor area" you pretty well park the car and walk everywhere and if you say a ways out on the island and drive in once you park the car Thursday through Saturday you usually don't move it. I don't know how many miles a day I walked in 2019 but it was between five and ten a day.

We are leaving the Toronto Area on July 12, travelling from Sarnia/Port Huron to Port Angeles WA via Lincoln NE. We will spend 1 day at the Speedway museum. the trip is approximately 4500 kms and with 2 drivers per car should take 5 days. We currently have two hot rods, but would like to see others in the entourage. The event runs July 17-19. We have booked our rooms for 4 nights near downtown. We intend to ship the cars home either from Vancouver ($2100) Calgary ($1550) Edmonton ($1350). For many, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. DM me if you are interested.

  24. My wife and I will be with anothercarguy and a lot of other Can Am Curmudgeons for the event. We'll leave San Diego and head 1,350 miles north, joining up with fellow Curmudgeons as we go. This will be our third trip to Deuce Days and we wouldn't miss it for anything. We'll be driving my avatar '34.

I looked for your car in my photos and there were several red chopped 34 Fords lurking there along with several that weren't chopped. https://robertdavison.smugmug.com/Deuce-Days-Victoria-BC-2019

  27. Actually, in 2019 and 2022 we drove up to Deuce Days in my wife's '34 roadster. She decided that she wanted to take something with roll-up windows in 2025!
