Who else is prepping for the pilgrimage?
Not Mecca, but damn close for deuce and hot rod fans.

My cars are just tributes to the bygone days, but I put a little HAMB sticker on the back window for shits and giggles.

Got bored this morning and put a couple of the pizza cutters on the sedan for fun. Forgot how much I liked em (ran them to deuce days in 2016). The fella that wanted them better show up soon with some dough or they might be making another trip!

EDIT: dang, he showed up (nice fella and the right home for those wheels). Back to plan A I guess.

Make sure that all of you take lots of photos. The big reason I decided to cancel going this year was that My legs just cannot handle the walking around Victoria to take photos and see cars and stuff like I like to. That lets me think about Bonneville this year though. Gas and a tent are a lot cheaper than the motel room up there.

I got it back together and had to pull it apart again after a run around the neighborhood. I might unfortunately end up as a spectator. I have not given up and will see if I can get things right in time. IMG_4755.jpeg

Got my registration number email yesterday. Turns out it's best I decided not to drive, as my work situation got a bit more sticky this week and I'll be taking another flight as soon as I get back to my home airport, so I wouldn't have had time to drive back.

Guess my registration will be a keepsake this year.

Dropped the coupe on the ground and fired up over the weekend after being in storage since last fall. Will pull it out of the warehouse on Sunday and drive for a few days prior to heading to Victoria on Thursday. Getting the itch now!

Escaped the BC dragit event with only a broken shock mount.... trucks back together, cleaned up and supposedly ready to go. 510551369_122181976832329602_4979879704809309614_n.jpg 512180813_122181976796329602_2672587593359860986_n.jpg

Well I told my wife a couple of weeks back I thought we'd just go over on the Sunday. Still not 100% after those strokes!!!

Anyway she was not happy as we had postponed a trip to see friends in Australia for Deuce Days....
So I'll be there Thursday to Sunday after all. But I do have a simple request however. I thought my 5W would be drivable (haha) but it's not even really begun. I have never even ridden in a "32 so I'd like to know what I'm getting into... So if someone would be nice enough to offer me a short ride while at Deuce Days for the experienceI would REALLY appreciate it!!!!! Could include a beer or two...

So thought I’d do a quick oil change as the wife and I are heading out soon.
And big kick in the nuts.
Not critical but not a good sign either.
Ever use an old oil filter that’s been sitting on the shelf too long and not noticed the rubber gasket might be defective? Long story short….lots of oil to clean up when a hipo oil pump blows out the gasket.
Dang, I hate moppin up oil.:mad::mad:
Oh well, into each life a little oil must fall.:p:p:p

oh, and no it wasn’t a fram.

Hmm, I've never had that happen. Luckily it's just some cleanup and it didn't result in engine damage or being stranded.

Kitty litter and Oil eater on the floor. At least it did it right when you fired it up rather than half way in between.

  20. I am ready for the big trip, down island, no boat ride required. So far, there are 8 of us meeting in Nanaimo Friday morning so should be downtown Vic around noon. Vicky is sporting new to me trim rings and chrome spark plug covers.

    Update:
First group from southern Alberta headed out yesterday.
Another group from south’n’central is heading out this morning.
And another group from further north is meeting up with us in BC tonight.
We are all doing a little touring along the way so we’re not rushing (been there, done that a few times). This time it’s gonna be a little more about the journey.
Each group (as far as I know) is 7-8 cars, so once we all meet up it should be a nice little show for folks along the way.:cool::cool:

I’m sure there are others heading west as well, and to all - SAFE TRAVELS!

*** and so it begins….the DD2025 magical mystery tour is off and running.***
    ***FINGERS CROSSED***

I heard about Deuce Days from my friend Gabby who attended back in 2016 and hopefully, I will finally be a participant this year if the car co-operates. So far, I have only travelled to local shows within about a 30 mile radius. With every trip, I get a bit more confident and do more tweeks to sort things out. This will be its most rigorous test. Haven't booked the ferry since every time I do, I'm late anyhow. The plan is to show up at the ferry terminal before it opens in the morning and try to sleep in the teardrop.

We have a great ring leader that books the ferry so we’re set that way. Going to try to get to Victoria in time to watch the big load of our southern friends get off the Coho ferry at 2-ish. The tourism board does a big ta-do and hands out roses to the gals on board the hot rods.

    Day one on the road:
Weather looked a little spook but once further into the mountains it was pretty nice.
