Event Coverage Northwest Deuce Days 2025

Went out for some fish dinner and snapped a couple on the way back.

Deuce days , cool pics, but in reality how many 32s were there? From someone that has never been it seems just like a regular pre 49 car show. Please enlighten me. Or is there a special day that the 32s are gathered in one group.

 

In 2019 There were around 800 32 Fords when I was there. A crap ton of the non 32 you see in guys photos aren't entered in the Event at all and cruise and power park and pose Thursday, Friday and Saturday and probably hit the ferries back to the mainland Saturday afternoon.

Depending on how fast your computer and internet are it usually takes about 2 hours to go though the slide show.

The Sunday show photos actually start with a 29 Model A roadster with a W motor in it parked on a side street. I saw it when I walked down to the parking garage where my car was about 3 blocks from my hotel. There are a ton of unusual cars that don't fit the bill here. That swedish 3 window is beautiful.

 

I've got a video of it. It's LOUD.

 

I have not been, but I know they drive 32s half way across our country to be there, I expect it is legit.

 

They reported that 550 32's were registered of 1,300. Not sure how many total cars are showing up for the big show today. I know I'm registered and my ride didn't make it, so it's no more than 1,299

 

There are cars from all over Canada and the states. We also don't have "regular" pre-49 shows like this in Western Canada. Most shows at least include muscle cars or tri-fives.

For hot rod fans in Western Canada, this is heaven.

 

Between work meetings and a baby that didn't want to go to bed, I didn't get as much yesterday. Here are some shots from LG Speed and Kustom's open house which include some flathead porn. @Rob28 has a very cool car. Didn't get to talk to him.

 

When we were at NWDD in 2013, on Sunday when the Deuces had the preferred parking along the downtown streets. Deuce grill shells as far as you could see on both sides.
My wife, a veteran of many pre-49 events asked "why do they all look alike?".

 

God dam hot rodders firing up those loud cars woke me up this morning.
They started at 3-3:30, those crazy bastards.
I was one of the slower ones crawlin out the sack just after five and headin over to park.
They gave me a pretty nice spot.
So now it’s on like donkey kong.
The real photo bugs are snappin pics like crazy before the hoards show up.

A little power parking this morning

 

I took more of that car for you this morning.

 

Sunday morning - the big car show.

 

The power parking is that Woodie group that camps out in the HQ hotel parking lot with not one 32 in the group. They take over that lot every time the show is on. If someone on here is part of that group I call them as I see them.
The organizers started parking the cars on the streets at 04:40 this morning and comments on FB said that they were very well organized in getting things done.

 

It takes place every 3 years. 2028

 

Hot rods were running outside my hotel room (right beside the show) at 3:30 AM local time.

 

Our hotel was not that close to downtown at NWDD 2013. The place we stayed was Paul's(?).
Anyway, I had no need to get there in the middle of the night. On Saturday, Al Clark picked my rod for the featured parking on Sunday (at that time) on the lawn of the government building.
I arrived about 9:00 AM. There were helpers staging the featured cars using wood ramps to get them over the curb.
The area was almost full. The rodder ahead of me crossed the ramp, turned off his car and quickly disappeared . There was not a space left for me.
The helpers felt bad, asked me to wait a moment, moved the ramps out of the way, then gave me the double-wide space along the street curb. It was better than being on the lawn as we were close to the crowds of spectators in the street. I talked to hundreds of people that day.

It’s absolutely nuts now, but seems lighter (crowd wise) than the last time we were here.

Just exited the show. And that’s a wrap for another three years for me.

I've got a lot more photos to share, but I'm currently very tired. I'll post them up this week. Saw @RockyMtnWay and other HAMBer cars but only got to visit with @Rob28. Really nice guy, I enjoyed my visit with him. It was a great day.

 

Duplicates are fine to me, always cool to see the show through different sets of eyes.
