A buddy has a NOS 60's era 2 deuce Offy intake for a 241/270 Dodge and is wanting to sell it local. dmarv here on the HAMB set up a run of these back in 09 through Offenhauser. How, if at all would that run affect the NOS value (assuming there are still some of those available, a net search really didn't turn up much helpful info)? My thought was that original will always have its place & value but if dmarv had Offy do the run, then there really should be no difference in value between the NOS and what he had done, right?
Personally, I wouldn't pay more for a NOS Offy intake than for a new one. UNLESS I was****ured Offy could not make any more of that pattern (broken mold). Offy's not like Edelbrock where they had to recreate the old part pattern, and didn't make it exact. Offy's had their molds forever, and I think they've always said they could recast anything if there was a demand for it.
