Here is a prime example of how the term NOS is misused nowadays. A new reproduction part is not a New Old Stock part. Probably made in China anyway. Just my .02 cents. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1952-1953-1...ash=item4af929899a:g:vwcAAOSwezVWv68-&vxp=mtr
Good grief...the seller probably doesn't even know that this probably makes the ad look worse and not better. But hey, at least it's a good quality reproduction piece. What makes me roll my eyes is at swap meets where someone has sprayed some primer on a fender and is calling it NOS.
I do not see any where that the ad mentions NOS.it says new in original box shows DC box.it could be 20 year or older DC repo. with original DC box
Seller must be watching this forum or someone contacted them, because that ad has been edited since this morning. It now reflects what the item actually is. That's cool.
Not a real high quality piece either if you look close. I'm thinking it was a seconds like DC sells at their swap meets booth
I got new handles for my car, think they were around $60. Also came in a Carpenter box. I had to chase the threaded holes in both, had plating in the threads. Otherwise they're show quality.
Swap meets is where it's at, there's a big one in Columbus Ohio every year around turkey day, it's an all ford event, some nod and repop but mostly mustang stuff. I remember seeing a prototype y block 3-4 intake,$2,000, three weeks later on e bay for $3,500. Too many people watch Barrett- Jackson.
