So i just picked up a pretty straight shoebox ford yesterday and got right to work pulling off chrome and filling holes, i've worked my way back to front and now i find myself staring blankly at the hood. As many of you know the 50 fords have nice little spider hider under the hood trim, a shallow and hideous divot right down the middle. I've seen lots of different ways to tackle this eyesore, whether its a a bullnose strip that eliminates just the hood ornament (kind of an easy way out i guess) or cutting out the center of the hood and replacing it with a peak. My question to those out there in HAMBland is, How did you do it? and would you have done it a different way? Tips? Trick? This really applies to tons of makes and models and years, im just curious, what options there are out there?
I did a thread called "demystifying the ol' hood peak" a couple of years ago. I don't know how to copy and paste the link on my phone but if you search you will be rewarded, enlightened and entertained. Or something.
Lol, did you scoop up the one on Craigslist for 2k with a flatty and everything? Was a killer deal for sure, good for you! If I had the space and money...
