Hope to bust-off my "new" 327 tomorrow, Gonna be close gettin all the bugs out as I intend to drive the coup the 164 miles over. Everything is different from my old 350, shifter, carb, intake and linkage, ignition, water pump and exhaust. Stole the carb off one of my work trucks because the "new" carb I traded off a customer was a absolute piece of shit (inside was rusted)!! Adventure!! I ain't scared! peace

Damn ethanol gas gonna screw us all up!

  11. You got that right Dave  Anywho Plan B didn't work. :( Sat on the shelf too long  But with three cans of carb cleaner and three used toothbrushes, the original Holley 3310 came back to life  Launching it is the only dilemma, definitely need a higher stall torque converter but what I have will have to do for this year. Can't wait till Saturday

Scot, around Griffin several stations are now selling a non ethanol "recreation" gasoline, 90 octane no ethanol. Essentially it's premium 93 octane without the ethanol added. Some stations are selling it instead of premium and some are selling it in addition to premium.
On the North side of Macon, on Riverside Drive where it runs paralell to I75, there's a station that sells non ethanol in all 3 grades.

    Bump for the A.M.

Will be missing the show this year, got the car ready for nothing. Going to the "Old drag racers" reunion in Panama City, Flordia. My old auto shop teacher is coming this year with his thunderbolt. It has been a while since 1974 when I was in school!
You all have a good time. Hope to see you next year. May just have the 58 truck or the FED ready. I am going to retire in 3 months and hope to have some time.
    Mike

  19. Dave here is a link to most all ethanol free gas stations in the US & Canada. We have a few here. http://pure-gas.org/

I always run high test in the coupe, but the carb was pretty varnished up from being rode hard and put up wet over the course of the life of this engine. She's running really good, just not wanting to launch like it should with the low rpm torque converter.

  20. I bought some of that 90 non-ethanol and my engine liked the 93 ethanol stuff better. Ya'll have fun. I hate I am not going to get to go. I was looking forward to meeting the GAOLDSMAN too - I know ya'll will find a way to have a blast anyhow. Ya'll be safe and go fast. Don't let Carl break anything.

  21. Cool Burnout is coming! We had a good time last year racing. I am flip flopping on which car to drive down. Someone needs to pick out a scenic route to drive.

  23. Josh don't worry if he gets to wild I will hide his keys

  24. picked up shirts today. See everyone Saturday afternoon.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  25. 90 octane isn't good for much, but down here the high test at the Pure station is 93 and I can't tell any difference between that and 10% ethanol. I know I am tired of rebuilding carbs on my small engines everytime I want to use them.

Yeah Josh I guess there's always next time. Maybe I can sneak up to Commerce for the $10,000 Run  and the big Perry Swapmeet and Show is coming up fast Nov 9th & 10th if you get a chance. Ask Dave (DOM) it's well worth the trip

  26. Right on Redsled the shirts look bad ass I will see you at the drag strip
