I wish to invite all Hambers and gear heads to my 7th annual Nostalgic event Sunday April 5 at Speedworld Dragstrip northwest of Phoenix, Az. The event has a new name, Nostalgic Show and Go!, which better describes what the event is all about. This is the longest running, nostalgic annual event in Arizona, our 7th year. Our web site is www.nostalgicshowandgo.org Created in 2003, it has always been patterned after a Goodguys type of event with showing, drags, exhibitions, special displays, parts swap, parade and more. Entries are restricted to 1981 and older- cars, trucks, old drag cars, musclecars, kustoms, rods, truck, wagons, etc. Everyone is welcome to display their car regardless of condition- finished or not. The event is very 'parts friendly' meaning everyone is encouraged to bring some parts to sell. You can get a vending space for cheap cheap or, if you have a small amount of things to sell- you can display a small amount of parts in your pit or show area too. They'll be good music playing from the 50s- to today as well. Everyone who enters the show or race will get a cool dash plaque and the first 1,000 people through the gates will get a very nice 24" by 36" full color event poster/calander with admission. There will also be award plaques and raffles. If you care to take a swing at a jap car with a sledge hammer, I will also have a jap car bash too for more fun. My gates open at 6am for swap set up and early parking. Show sign up starts at 8am First car down the track at 9am parade around noon. eliminations 1pm Special exhibitions throughout the day. We hope to see you all there and also welcome suggestions and we could use some volunteer event staff help too if interested. I've been runnin' on adenalin all week! so excited about the upcoming Nostalgic Show and Go THIS Sunday! Been polishing my cherished set of magnesium Halibrands on my AA/Fueler mounted on a pair of M&H 12.00 16s while listening to some good vintage rock and roll! damm, it's a lot of work rubbin on those things but, they look, what can I say, just ***s! Living out in the desert on 5 acres and surrounded by 450 old Pontiacs I can make all the noise I want at any hour (I love that). Anyway...... This Sundays going to be a great time. I'm "on fire" for this special Nostalgic Sunday and doing my best to bring you all a good show and a fun day! As they said on the old Beeline radio commercials........BE THERE! There is going to be all kinds of interesting and exciting things to see. I've dug out some of my nostalgia drag videos and will have a TV going all day showing all kinds of historical Drags- altered wheelbase funnys, nitro burning slingshots, g***ers, super stockers and more. I'll be out if town visiting my family this weekend, so I'm gonna mis this gig (family comes first). Rats! On the bright side, I'll be in San Diego and I should be able to get in some surfing while I'm there.

I got a call today and a second nostalgia nitro funny car may come to make some runs too. Also, Both of the cool Henry J g***ers shown on the event flyer will be there! Here is the schedule for the day. Event Schedule 1<SUP>st</SUP> gate opens 6:00am Parts exchange set up, early show parking 6-8am 2<SUP>nd</SUP> gate opens 7am Show registration starts around 8am Racer tech opens at 8am worship service 8:30 north grandstands, everyone welcome. First car down the track at 9:00am The band "The Incognetos" starts to play around 11am Show voting ends 11:30 Morning time trials end around 11:45 Special exhibitions approx 11:45-noon Car parade/show awards follow exhibitions, around noon-12:15 National Anthem, prayer 1pm Eliminations 1pm 2<SUP>nd</SUP> special exhibition session around 2pm Time trials, test runs continue during elims as needed and throughout the day til 5 when track secures. This will allow for lots of track time for those to just want to make fun runs or do some match up grudge racing. Also, I'll be firing up my blown nitro burning AA/Fueler with a healthy load in the tank for a really nice cackle. It's going to be a great time.
