Not a 32 Ford 3 window, but I like it.

I like it alot. Definately can tell some real craftsmenship has gone into this build and was not just thrown together.

Post #12......... Good eye on the intake. But there was a 428 CobreJet and the 429 was either a truck 429 or Boss 429. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it does look like the 429 intake, right? It doesn't look like the FE intake. Good to know this because I've been sitting on a couple of 500ci. Caddy's. I have one that's carb'd and the other is the first year fuel injection. I'm interested in the details on the modification to run that intake on the Caddy. Steven.

Hey mate did you fishplate the small Z in the front? That 500 Cad will have LOTS of (frame twisting) torque

So thats a ford intake??? As Bullrack said - how did you make it work if thats the case?

Good on ya for following through and building what you wanted.

Truck looks great, cant wait to see it done.

I like the hood, if you can run it, whats the issue with it, did you go back to the tunnel ram.

To my knowledge there are both, a 428 and a 429 Cobra Jet. I honestly do not know specifics. I kow that the ports line up rather well in a 460 intake to the 500 Caddy. The 429 intake I stumble upon had the same was interchangable with the 460, so that told me, obviously, that it would match the caddy. You have to buy or make an adapter plate to mount to the heads (about 400 bucks), then bolt the intake to it. It is offset, like a carb adapter. You have to get a custom valley pan. You will also have to modify the intake. On my intake I would of had to remove the water inlet. I was knee deep in it when I started reading how much power it would rob. I just canned the whole ordeal and went with the factory intake. Once I get it on the road I will be saving toward running the Edelbrock intake with about 750 cfm carb. I can say that uilding the motor was a slight headache, but it was well worth the wait. That monster with that cam doesn't sound like any cadillac I have ever heard, lol. If you are working on one, MTS and Cad500.com are good places to look. There are also more and more parts popping up for these things on egay.

I like the hood on it too, but in order to run it, I am going to have to figure out a custom grille and a way to safely secure the hood. I may come back to that one day, but for now, I think I'm going to go hoodless. I don't know though, I change my mind alot, haha.

Speedway motors Big Block Chevy Lake headers kit. I laser cut the caddy flanges at work. There are a couple places I found online that make them for not much more than any other header. Somewhere around 375 bucks if I remember right. This route was less than 200, and I'm a poor mofo, haha.

Dig the truck, you do bitchin' work. Very glad to see someone building besides a SBC or SBF. That caddy will still have a lot of torque with that big cam and will be a bunch of fun. Hope to see some "on the road" pics soon.

Here are a couple pics I took yesterday. I wish I could post a damn video on here. Anyway, I snagged a (I know some of you are going to jump my ass for this) 32 ford shell from work to see what it would look like on my truck. If I use it, I will have to widen it and do quite a bit of fitting to get it behind the spring and fitting oever the radiator. I think it looks ok, and would work until I could make one to run my hood with. Anyways....here they be....with the headers done.

And this is the altenator bracket I made. Hell if I was paying 100 bucks for one, lol. [IMG]

DMFB, that 32 shell, Im not gonna lie, looks pretty fucking good from that angle. With the hood sectioned and what not it would look really slick.

Thanks LarzBahrs. I don't know if I'm good enough to section the hood to work with that grille, but I'm not scared to try either, lol. I'll get the grille fit well, and run it hoodless for now. I think Iam going to work on getting the hood to work with that grill though. I thought about make a frame with a mount for the hood to bolt to, then using 3/16 or 1/4 stainless roundstock to mold in the grill bars. Making it wrap around kinda like a 40 ford grill sort of. That is a shit load of work for something that may look like shit. DOn't know.

Here is a video of one of the first fire ups. Look at how hard the damn thing torques the truck on small throttle burst. Makes me wonder how much torque really IS there. Excuse the first 30 seconds of the video. I was setting up the camera, and then had to bump my timing. I have it ironed out now, but it is the touchiest damn motor I have ever been around. Enjoy!

It looks pretty good with that grille..... It would look killer if you could make a hood top to fit..... looks like your gonna be burning the tires pretty soon..........

Thanks hoteod33. I hope to have it on the road soon. I am going to fab the hood to work with that grill. I like it more and more every time I look at it. For those of you who haven't seen it, here is a video of one of the first fires. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=816ccynj8Z8
Hopefully I'll be on a test drive before the end of the month. Who knows. Money is a bitch.

I just relocated back home to Dayton, Ohio. Sorry about the updates.....or lack of. I drove the truck home from where I was building it a couple weeks ago, a distance of 22 miles. It ran and drove awesome, which got me an awesome 6-7 miles a gallon, haha. It is extremely quick, having no trouble laying 2-300 foot patches at half throttle....basically until I couldn't keep it straight anymore, lol. I have a pretty tremedous oil leak developing at the front main, which I will be getting around to fixing this weekend. I basically got it together enough to drive it home for the big move. I have been working on braiding the wiring and putting heat shrink on all of the wiring then putting that plastic loom over it. I had some trouble on the way home....PS, NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET. So, there are a few things I need to fix from the trip home. All in all, I am overly happy with how well it handles and rides. I will post some videos soon. Anyway, thats it, after the wiring is done, I get tags and front glass, I will be driving the wheels off of it.
