This wasnt someone sneaking on someones "private property" taking pictures of ongoing projects to where its "invading privacy". Obviously these cars have been there for quite sometime and if that is someones future project then they sure in the hell forgot about it. I didnt say wax the damn car but you wouldnt cover it???? The point I was making was the invading someones privacy; not the aspect of how a person goes about taking care of a project.

I think I'd be pissed.. if i saw a picture of my car that I stashed away in a place i thought was secure, and that I paid for..No matter the cost. another reason why i dont stash mine in places like that..no security, and obviously the owner of that property doesnt think like I do..so me storing my future projects or stash there would be a big NO And if i had one there..I'd probably go pull it, before it came up missing.
Looks like a place my family and friends used to store stuff at. It looked just like that inside...full of cars that had been there for YEARS. We just stored there in the winter, and it was $100 for @6mo. In one barn we stored in, there were about 8 65-68 mustangs in it. All were "parts cars" that some guy who lived in New York was saving. We stored there for about 5 years, and they had been there ALOT longer than that. I often wonder if these people have died, or maybe forgot about them, and that's why they've been there so long........ I just "google earthed" the placed I stored, and there's only 4 buildings....
I think when you store something for $100 per year, you understand the lack of security. Getting dry storage for $100 per year is a good deal, getting security with it would be insanity.

I have stuff in my garage only 40 feet from the house that I've forgotten about. Sometimes I'll find something that I forgot about or can't even remember ever buying it. Kinda like finding fossils in an archeological dig. I see both sides of this coin. I wouldn't dig finding pics of my stuff on the internet, but on the other hand, it's like Monty Hall directing my attention to Carrol Merril standing in front of door # 3, and just dying to know what's behind it!

It's not private if it's in a barn with 100 other people's cars. It may as well be in a an open self storage place - it's going to be seen. Unless there's an agreement to not take photos or at least not publish them, it's not invading anyone's "reasonable expectation" of privacy. You should expect that there will be other people in that barn, and that they may take pictures. Which is why I would never store my shit in a place like that.
I would like to find storage for $100/month. Looks like, at least in your pics, some cars that are too good to be sitting like that.
Holy crap! I have never seen people get in such an outrage about some photos "oh no wait the wife got that mad about some from a stagg party once." LOL! OK He was there with guys that had legal access because they pay and store there cars there. He wanted to share the photos with people he thought would appreciate the beauty. (and I do thank you). However i do understand the concern for lurkers who try to figure out where things like this are and destroy or steal them. But to just start calling people names and fighting with each other over this is insane. Look at all the car show pics we post on here do we get permission from every owner to put these on here I will bet we do not. think about it. I thought this site was Hot Roddin Not Hot Headin.
i think its around here too seems odd that all the plates are from here why for any other reason than that granted the pics look as tho they are abandoned they are in a well groomed exterior area no windowsno overgrown shrubs - trees.. dirt floors done right dry well and wick moisture away as much a stay moist all the time .. bet its hot in there during the summer and vented right should slow any corrosion issue some .. $100 a month per car X cars in building = nobodys gettin rich for sure just doing a service for like minded storage challenged guys .. i believe places like this are advertised in local club news letters and such NOW ALL YOU CRIMINAL TYPES JUST DELETE THESE PICES FROM YER BRAIN AND STOP THINKIN YOU HAVE FOUND THE MOTHER LOAD OWNERS OF THESE PLACES HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM IN THEM BUILDINGS TO DIG DEEP HOLES WITHOUT PRYING EYES AND THEN PARK CARS OVER EM FOR 30-50 YEARS .. AFTER ALL YOU WERE NOT TELLIN ANY ONE WHERE YOU WERE GOIN BEFORE YOU DISAPPEARED NOW WERE YA........
In a university town here in NS a wooden barn burnt that had cars stored from students that attented the university. Most of the cars where british sports cars from the 50s and 60s and I don't think most had insurance on them. They had been there for a couple of decades. I don't think there was anything left worth saving.
I have one stored kinda like that. Every now and then i get asked if i want to sell it. So i know people are bringing other around there.
My car's not there so I don't really care but if it were I'd be a bit upset. It's bad enough to have the other people bring in jerk-offs that probably already hijack your parts but now it's on the internet. Yeah, at $100 for however long you have to expect other people are gonna see it but I wouldn't want it shown off either. Maybe that's what those "poor people" can afford to pay for storage. Sucks for them to be broke and want their cars secure. And the dust? I guess we all have endless funds to be constantly working on our cars, right? Us Hambers never have stuff sitting, right? Maybe they got to the point with a family where they put it off for a couple years. Who knows the reasons but they are many. The pix. of the inside isn't even the issue. It's the outside pix. that give location away. Right now there are 100 guys on Google earth looking for 8 gray barns in that area. And there are plenty of thieves out there who more than likely "lurk" here looking to score a few bits. A public place is one thing but no-one should take pix of private property and post them with out permission.
When I was at Lenos garage they told us, "take all the pics you want but DON'T post them on the internet" How many of you have not heard of his collection? But he still doesn't want them shown off by whoever on the net
I had a buddy who stored a convertable Camaro in a similar situation and when he went back to get it the carb was gone and it had a big dent in the quarter.
Looks a lot like a place in MN south of the Twin Cities a friend of mine stored a car in back in the 90's. We spent 2 hrs. looking at all the other cars. Wondered if any were for sale. The owner was pretty clear about not sharing any contact information.
