Not a barn find but a garage find

I dont post much on here because I am hot rodless at the momement, but I know you guys would be the only ones who would appreciate this.

I am currently on a trip for work through Montana.

Accross the HWY is an abandoned garage. (see picture) I walk over and cant see in the windows of the garage door, but the top glass is missing so I stick my camera over my head and in the window and snap a few pictures. See whats inside!

 

Wow, that is very cool and totally unexpected! Any idea on who may own the property?

Out of respect for the owner, I think you should pull the pic of the garage sign and the town's name. You dont want to make it easier for scumbag thieves. just sayin.

Otherwise, thats a cool find... you just never know what's hidden away in places.

That's cool as shit! I always try to look into those old building like that, you never know what you might find, that's really cool.

to do this the right way . find the courthouse. and then go to the planing and zoning dept.
ask them to see a plat book. on that book it should show who owns that property then write it down. then do a public search of that info you got. then contact them.

Looks like more than just one car inside. Probably three or four. There is a flatty in the foreground, most likely others as well. Nice find. I'd go to the court house or police station and ask a few questions, don't hurt to try....might get lucky.

 

This is extremaly rual Montana. This little town has mabe five buildings and this was one of them. There are no cops as they are not needed because every one has the right to shoot and ask later if you look like your doing something wrong! Everyone saw what I was doing and waved as long as pictures was all I was doing. Doubt anyone would get a chance to take with out approval.

A lot of cool stuff up here though and if I find more Ill post.

I would love to walk through that shop. Could be a goldmine of parts and memorabilia in there.

If you do end up getting permission to after some of that stuff, take extreme care not to bring the rest of that joint down while you're in there! Make sure you have people there with you, and maybe let the authorities know just in case.

according to my "American Car Spotters Guide 1920-1939" published in 1975, Buicks of that era did not have the headlights on a bar like that. they had brackets that went straight down to the frame. haven't found anything else so far but it's kind of a shitty book.

 

Sweet find! That car in there will look awesome if somebody saves it. Are those old posters in the top left corner of the third picture?

Really need to find out if that stuff can be bought. Hit the closest coffee shop and I am sure someone there will know what the scoop is on it.Acocrding to what you stated about the town being that small.

My first guess when I saw the pics was late twenties or early thirties Packard. You said you were hot rod-less. Well, this could be your chance to pick up a cheap one.

At least 4 cars and 2 engines.. worth looking into more. And Caddilac seems to make sense.. wonder how far back that engine goes behind the tires v8 or v12?

Maverick, if you don't go after these let someone else here know (local anyone?) so we can save those cars before the next snow storm collapses that building onto those cars.
