We know that. What we don't know is what it really is. Can anybody identify this body. Kroozn1 picked it up in Nevada and thought it was a Devon. Whaat is it????????? BB
there is one similair to that in the local auto trader.....i think they had it listed as a "thor" .....????? that thing looks like the car that joe lunati ran back in the 60's......brandon
I've seen cars with the wheels tucked pretty far into the wheelwells, but I think that one sets a record...
I"ve had a few Berkeley's. I don't think that is one but isn't it about that same size? What are the dimensions?
Austin Healy? At least it fits in a parking spot real easy. Chris Nelson Kansas Oh yea, but I don't see the handicap sticker though.......
Bob, I've seen that body before just can't remember where. It'll come to me. Here is a car from '54. They were making all kinds of weird 'glass cars back then. I couldn't even guess...
Looks a little bit like a Victress.Saw ads for them back in the 60's.The front resembles a Daimler SP250 a bit.
I'm not sure what it is either but maybe this site will help: http://ladawri.com/ I'm sure if you scan through there long enough there is bound to be another one on there like it.
what ever it is, it looks great. the front is very 250 ferrrari-esque. i would have gone with the devin idea also (it is not a ginetta creation though)
Reminds me of a Kellison roadster, which was a copy of an Aston Martin . A friend still has a coupe that was a funny car back in the day , the only thing that is weird is that mouth ,'cause his was changed a bit .I see if'n I can dig up a picture somwhere.
Bill Devin made a lot of different models of his car. Look at his website here To see if any of them are close. I suppose you have better knowledgethat us if those side light nacelles are cast in or added later, but the dash looks at least similar to the SBC/Vette size body. It could be a splash taken off a modified body too. Which side of the glass is the "good side"?
It looks really small- would it have used VW power/platform? also that glass looksreally old [and hand layup],is it thin or does it have several layers of matte?
Looks a little like these glass bodies that where available from Almquist in the late 50's and early 60's.
Ill tell you what that is, its badass! Seems like it would make a great car to cruise around in if you dumped a decent motor in. And it looks really good to boot. Id guess that its a European car or an American attempt at one.
Build a 389 for it, stick it in along with full independent suspension and a four-speed and some Pontiac badges, tell everyone it's a Banshee concept.
Hey, The basic flow of the lines of that thing remind me of a Falcon body( of no relation to the Ford Motor Company), Falcon was built in England in the 50s.
I've seen the body in person, it looks much smoother in daylight. It's small, real small, like MG midget small, or smaller.
Somebody wake up the sandman. He's got a small portscar like that. I saw it in his shop which is now Igopogo's shop.
Reminds me of the glass body I worked on 25 years ago, they sure have made advances in fiberglass over the years. Wonder if that was built for some Crosley powered class of SCCA racing.
If it is really small, I'm thinking Crosley special, too. What is the approximate wheelbase? You could work backward from that to see what chassis it would fit. The Crosley sedans were on an 85" chassis. The Crosley Hotshots & Supersports were on an 80" chassis. If it is Crosley sized you could check with the Crosley club - they are into Crosley specials in a big way. www.ggw.org/cac www.clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/crosley
