I went looking for a large oil filter wrench at a discount auto parts a while back. I found the tool aisle, but no big filter wrench for a diesel. So i go to the counter guy. He says , and i'm not lying ,"what's a filter wrench?" I looked around for a camera or something, but he was dead serious. I asked him if he ever changed oil in his car & he said no, they don't charge much at quick lube.
this is why in my home town, i go to burbank auto,they have been there for over 70 years! and yes you can find almost everything you need there. and everyone there knows what you are talking about when you ask for a part.
I had to go to three auto parts places to get an alternator rebuild kit. It cost me $18.00. A reman alternator was $65.00. I was just laid off so the $40.00 difference bought more baby food.
