Nice Olds! Appears the front and rear carbs are just for looks.

Even if the 3-2s setup was just for looks - it looks cool!

A good example of old hot rodding outside what many think is “traditional”.
    I would definitely drive that!

I believe later Olds 3rd members (‘50s) bolt in - they do on a ‘40. They require a stepped stud to fit the larger mounting holes in the 3rd member to the smaller housing without any re-drilling/tapping threads.

First clue: only the center carb has a fuel filter. Second clue: front and rear carbs are painted. There's others. I'm not knocking the car, I think it's awesome.

Nope !.... Fully functional,... It primarily runs only on the center carburetor because it's a progressive linkage,... On a tri-power the end carbs are just dumpers, no chokes or idle circuits,... They pretty much work like toilets. There is another filter back near the gas tank... But considering how long the old girl has been sitting,.. running a separate filter on the primary carb is just extra protection.

  11. Musty mohair smell, as I recall. We had a '41 Pontiac tudor torpedo (in my avatar), our family's first car.

My pal Mike has a 1939 olds sedan and it is one of the nicest ridding hot rods I have ever rode in, plus the front fenders make a great picnic table. :D HRP
