Not quite sure how I missed this thread. Cool car, cool build, cool engine... I too am midway (who am I kidding, I am at the start) of a '55 322 nailhead powered '30 coupe.
good luck with your build WEX65! We have a nice set of buick finned drums which will be run on the car, we still havent figured out how to complete the brakes on the front end. Steering column is in mock-up stage right now and we are waiting on the wheel to get here so we can finish the steering and make sure everything is where it is supposed to be. After that, my guess is to finish the floors, decide what to do about a gas tank/filler neck, and then put the engine and trans in and ****on that up. The engine is painted and ready to go, it's sitting in the corner waiting its turn . One of the final things to do is fix the wood in the roof and then complete the minor body work that needs to be done. The goal is to be driving this A by late spring 2014!
still plugging away at this build. currently finishing up the rear floor pans. We took original trunk sheet metal and re-shaped it to fit the new floors. Trying to keep as much of the originality as we can with it. Finally figured out the rear spring and all looks good. steering column set-up is next on the list.
A little update: The engine and trans are in the ch***is. Now to figure out the pedals and steering, The floors are 95% done and now that the trans is in position; the floors can be finished.
