Sorry to post a subject but need advice. Winter is here and I gotta cut wood. I am sick and tired of dealing with my Stihl chainsaw and need a new one. I am looking at Echo chain saws but know nothing about them. Any input would be appreciated. Sorry if this thread should not be here. Thanks

Might put Chainsaw in the ***le... I was actually contemplating buying the Husqvarna "rancher 55" chain saw - I've got a little Mcollouch (sp?) saw that's never let me down, it's just too small for what I'm needing. Father-in-law has a stihl that he uses a lot and it's been reliable for the most part. I think it's like an 023??? it's a small to mdeium sized one.

    What's wrong with yours??

thats funny, my dad ditched his echo for a stihl. never been happier. seriously though, ive not heard anything bad about echos and at least you dont have to run premium gas in them like stihls.

The folks that I know would rather eat poop than own anything but a STIhl.

Fix it you will probably be happier, Or just ship it to me ,I'll be happier!!

I have used "Husky's" for 20 years with no possibility of complaint.

The big reason is the dealer. His warrantee is "pull the rope if it don't start bring it right back". I never needed to bring him one back yet (for a no start)

Have a collection of saw's and chains, and learn to sharpen your own chains with a hand held dremel tool.

By using anthracite coal and fire wood I heat my house for 10 cents on the dollar or less compared to utility heat.
