In some ways, having an engineer to inspect would prevent stupid "kids" making shit like this. NO THIS IS NOT A HYDRAULIC/AIRBAG SYSTEM.

This is how the car drives . . with BOLT SPACERS to set the extreme camber. Virginia Antique plates on this VW Rabbit. Setup was so bad, he broke the axles. I know, O/T but still stupid.

In this case, the police made the decision to take it off the road.

    Yup.

The engineer in oZ needs to see all the raw chassis welds, (as welded), no grinding, no bondo, no paint.
You can paint it after inspection, but he needs to see it first.

If you import a completely finished car, it is just not possible to get an engineer to take full personal responsibility for something he has absolutely no knowledge about.

It is not that difficult, you just go to an engineer and say, I want to build this.
Show him a sketch, an engineering drawing, or better still a tack welded mock up.
    He will say fine.
You need to use this wall thickness tube here, suitable grade bolts with locking nuts here and here, gusset it there, and weld a fish plates over those bit there.

He is only going to say no, if you want to do something that is not going to work, or be dangerous, or does not meet minimum vehicle regulations that must to be complied with to get full road registration.

The engineer is there as a mentor with all his knowledge and experience, to help you get it right first time.
