Sorry guy's! Don't get mad at me because I had started a thread My Last Challenge. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed building Rods until I got into this one. My Daughter Amy has been helping me on this old 47 ford panel and she has gotten so hyped up, I have now promised to build her one when we get this one on the rode. This build has also got my son (who is in the process of building a 40 Chopped Chevy p/up) wanting to move back from Texas to build old rods with me. How awesome is that? Life is good, Rods are great and beer is cold! I am doing a full build. All I got was the body, the frame will come later. I welcome any suggestions I have never done a 47 Ford but I hope it turns out good. I will post progress pics as I go. One guy wrote in my old post "I thought this was a sickness....don't tell me it can be cured" all I can say to him is not yet! I bought this from Ratrodder 34 a H.A.M.B member here in KY ( Kewl guy by the way) and got it home Saturday 1-23-2010 and the wood floor fell out as we were unloading it. my friends and neighbors said will it stay together long enough to get it in the garage? LOL this is some of the progress I have made in 4 days. I will post pics through out this build. Again sorry about the re-thread. The dash I removed the lower part and I want to fab a new one. I keep thinking I will hit a big mass of bondo but only hit a couple areas of lead. Thats when body work was really awesome. Just wish I had that kind of talent!
This is how far I've gotten today. In pic 1. The roof had seperated from windshield frame, I added metal and Ran a couple of welds. Pic 3 The orig. door handle had been partially primered, figured I would just clean that up while I was at it. Pic 4. if you remember the cowl had split. Now that the dash has been removed I can do The cowl welds from inside and save fthe actory seam. Pic 4 is more of the cowl I cleaned up and at this point I deserved that Bud sitting there! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
