I've only had 2 experiences with members on here , but both members have been outstanding.

Lazlobassett a few years back .....no problem with paying, shipping or communication

    Same with Tim_with_a_T

Without Mike Bowling my model a roadster probably wouldn't exist. Tons of parts and sound advise from him really got my project on the right track. Tony Martino in upstate NY, he has hooked me up with wide fives and roller tires, a bunch of flathead parts, and he is pleasant and reasonable. Robert J Palmer helped with tri-five parts and even delivered half a cowl to me and I had to force him to take money for it! Many thanx to the good guys on the hamb, there are many

There's lots of honest people on here. You only hear about the pricks. When you're happy you just go on about your business. When you get screwed you want blood.

I'll take the opportunity to give huge thanks to two HAMBers:

Saltflats for the Atlas Lathe manual when I received a lathe as a gift.

dave lewis for offering up the bottom half of his Ansen bellhousing for a pattern (which I'd like to take him on at some point!)

Neither of these guys know me from Adam. That's the power of the HAMB. Sadly some people take advantage of that and screw people over. Those a-holes should be drawn, quartered and their head place on a pike on a bridge.

"I was browsing CL Sunday to save some cash."

When I want to save a few bucks I stay off CL!

I have bought a few things from folks on this list and have always had things work out fine. More importantly, I have gotten a bunch of good advice and answers to questions.

I've done hundreds of HAMB and Fordbarn deals and I've only been hosed once. A few years back when the HAMB went down I lost my PMs for a couple of purchases I was working on and never could find out who I was supposed to contact. I'm sure there's a few guys out there thnking I wigged on deals but it was an accident....

I could say that about Paul and my '39. F&J has given me a huge amount of help too.
I have done hundreds of deals on the HAMB, have yet to be ripped off. My car wouldn't look anything like what it does without the HAMB classifieds.

I sent a pair of eab heads to a guy and used some hot rod and street scene magazines for filler and padding. He thought that was king shit, and I was glad to get rid of them but didn't have the heart to pitch them.

  10. Our wagon wouldn't be on the road without all the parts I got from Flat Top Bob. HRP

I like to think that a good outcome in a car guy to car guy deal is the norm.

It was a good day on the HAMB right from Falfa to a streetrod that looks like a custom to some louvers to some good dealing on ole A parts and wishing goodwill to a member who is really down but hanging in. Power to the HAMB and the People that make it...;)

Porknbeaner I found your thread on page 7. Proof that bad news travels like wildfire, good news is not interesting :)

I think the pig is just really tall.

  17. I was actually about shoulder high to a big old bore once, my Uncle Wells convinced me that their noses felt really funny, then grabbed my hand out of the way just before it became a stump. He laughed so I knew it was funny but I had no idea why. I laughed too, nothing like being a little kid. :D

I was on here talking to Squirrel about the harmonic balancer on a 283 when "Ol Scrounger" posted and offered to send me one out of his stash. I took him up on it not knowing what to expect (I figured as much as $60.00). He took time out of his day to package it, take to the post office and mail it on his dime. He didn't charge me for the part and only asked that I reimburse him for the postage. So, $13.00 from the right coast to the left and it got here in about 3 days! It may not sound like much to y'all but it made my month :D. There are some genuinely good people here on the HAMB.
