    Hi all,
    next week my wife and me leave Switzerland for a one month trip in the U.S.

    Main towns visited will be: Memphis, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, San Fransisco, Paso Robles and L.A.

    Would like to know what are the "must see" places not to miss in these areas. Hot rod and Kustom related and purely touristic.

    Already know some of the unmissable places in L.A.

    Feel free to increase the list

    Thanks a lot for your help:)

  2. It's not car related, but when yo go to Memphis, you MUST go to The Rendezvous for ribs. It's off of Beale Street and the entrance is in the alley (yes, really). Ask at any hotel off of Beale how to get there. FANTASTIC food and most of the staff have been there for well over 20 years, with some in the 30+ year range.

    I just got back from a month in U.S. Check the tread ( don't know how to put it here, but search this site for "klaus" or Rt 66) and go west young man. NHRA museum is a must, so is the Petersen museum, all the route 66 is fantastic. Enjoy.

    Other good rib places are Leonards (great buffet with catfish and pork!), Pig-N-Whistle (muddy ribs, yall), and Corkys (yeah, I know it's a tourist trap, but the meat's good). I would also visit Mud Island, the original Sun Records Studio, and drive over the muddy Mississippi to West Memphis (just roll up your windows and lock your doors). Man, I love Memphis...

    I assume your gonna be in Paso for the car show.

    If you get a chance, head out Hwy 46 West, and then North on Hwy 1 to San Simeon. Go take a tour of Hearst Castle, then continue up Hwy 1 thru Big Sur till ya get to Carmel/Monterey. It's an all day
    activity with scenery that you'll NEVER FORGET!

    If you need any more info on this area, PM me and I'll help out anyway I can.

    Here's a map of the area;
