Not that important, but kinda cool i guess

So I just got back from grandma's house for the holidays, and i left with an unexpected gift. I got the usual sweater, but when i went down to find some tools, i also found an old chev 3 speed transmission. totally complete except for the side plate and it looks like all the gears are good too, although i'm sure they're not if it's sitting on the ground. Nothing to special, but it totally made my day.

What years did they make the 3 speeds? it looks identical to the one in my 53. my grandpa used to have a '47 and probably mid 50's chev. Anyways, thanks for listenin.

40-48 are the same and 49-54 are same.

 

Yeah a "ground score" is kinda cool. Got a 1935 Diamond T Special motor that way...
