Event Coverage Not the last Jalopy Showdown

I was just looking at my new Sept. '21 issue of Hemmings and they have an article on the Jalopy Showdown. They report that there WILL be another one next year. Put on by the EMMR, this event will be called the Hot Rod Annual and take place May 21, 2022.
So all is not lost!
UPDATE, UPDATE, Hemmings must have got it wrong, the correct date is MAY 14 2022

Yes, some folks museum asked if they could continue with the show as it has always been a big fund raiser for it. I am still on the board of directors there and naturally said yes. All I asked was them to change the name now that I am not running the show. Very excited to see people interested in keeping it going!

 

Always one of the high lights of the year. So glad to see the tradition continue. Thanks again for all that you did, Larry and crew. The years were so much fun. Looking forward to more good times....Don.

I just sent an email to the museum, I will report here what I find out.
My guess is the museum website has the correct date, but we shall see.

 

Anyone know the date for Jalopyrama 2022?
I'd like to do a double, if they are on consecutive weekends. Otherwise Lincoln is a long drive for a one day event.

Mike Szuba indicated to me that Jalopyrama 2022 is May 7 at the Talbot County Community Center Ice Warehouse in Easton, Md.

Change your calendars! I just got this message from Emily Winslow at the museum for the date of the first Hot Rod Annual:
"My apologies for the confusion - it will be on May 14, 2022. I updated the website to reflect the correct date."

Yes the events will be on consecutive weekends.

Just checked and the announcement on the museum website has been updated, as promised.

My initial thought is to leave Easton on Sunday and go to Virginia Beach. Then I should be able to fit in a visit to see @TomT and get @Hamtown Al to buy me an ice cream.
On Friday head up to PA. Sunday begin the two day drive home.
