Didn’t really touch the car this weekend, other than installing this Edmunds choke cable bracket from Charlie Price Vintage Speed, and hooking up the trans cooler lines.

Although I ran the exhaust vent for my garage heater (finally) so I can keep on hammering this thing out. Still need to run the gas line, thermostat and rewire the plug

Maybe you guys have noticed I have been procrastinating getting back to fab work o_O

Well it’s sort of true, I prioritized getting the chassis done and have been toying with the idea of breaking the engine in while the body is off. I think I’m still dedicated to that, but I saved this car to do fab work and I haven’t fabbed anything in 2 years for it.

So after this realization, I thought I’d start making patterns for some of the uglier parts of the car (wheel wells are rough!)

I used a spare sedan passenger side wheel well (bought off an hamb’r a few years back) combined with what’s left on the car, to rough out what the profile is supposed to be.

It’s worth noting the sedan profile is different than the coupe. You can see it best on the LH side of the cardboard, if you follow the lower parallel straight line that’s a sedan, and the lower swoop is the coupe

Remaining sheet metal work is pretty typical of these cars but damn near everything lol.

    • Wheel wells
    • Front quarters
    • Lower cowls
    • Rear tail pan
    • Trunk lid lip
    • Rear window to trunk valance
    • Top of Dash (since this is a customs thread, been keeping an eye out for some pre and post war dashes to convert to at some point.)
    • Rockers
    • Patch some of the 87 years of firewall modification holes
    • Last but not least, the DOORS
Lately I’ve been toying with the idea of buying some patch panels to save time. Mainly the quarters and rockers. The compound curve portion of the tail pan isn’t too bad, just need to make the lower 2” or so.
