well it's got the motor too tall, cab too low deal going on. doesn't make it a RAT ROD really. the cartoon car moniker sems to fit. not as cartoony as the purple people eater though.

came out pretty cool, lots of good ideas and fabrication... but for my tastes I'd rather see it 4-5 inches off the ground at the bottom of the cab...maybe a bit less radical on the chop. guess I'm just an old fart.

  2. I compliment you on your skills, attention to detail, and following thru with your idea. You have talent, to be sure. I however, still do not like bobber trucks..that's my unsolicited opinion.

I thought a bobber truck was a truck sans bed? This has a bed.

lots of nice work done here that's for sure, I think the novelty of driving a vehicle that low with a motor that tall will get old pretty quick. I know it did for me and my motor was not even that tall (bbc with a tunnel ram and scoop) but once you cover the center of view it gets pretty sketchy driving.

all and all nice build, this message board probably not the best spot, surprised you haven't gotten more negative responses really

    Hey everyone,

Back in the shop finally and glad to be home.

Well been working today on making the brackets for the air tank. I have a Mooneyes tank that I love the design on the spring loaded brackets so decided to make my own too bad they only come in the limited edition tank now.

Here are some pics, i know they look like crap but they will be polished soon... Im also making a aluminum radiator overflow tank and that will complete the engine bay.

WOW... all I can really say, I have spent the past 20 minutes reading threw all the pages.. and dude you have skills! I think that truck is SICK! I just got a 46 dodge dually and I am going to start my build soon. That chop looks so sick! How much is the body sectioned? And too all the people judging "its not a traditional or period correct" Yeah traditional and period correct cars are the ones people just walk right by at the shows to get to your ride! Keep up the good work!

How did I miss this thread?? This is insane, over the top, to many styles mixed together and I freakin love it! I wasnt sure at the beginning of the thread but man that is one beautiful "cartoon" truck you are building.

I am one of many here that have just found this thread... your truck is amazing !!! Sort of the Purplee People eater meets Ed Roth. I love it.

Sorry for using your thread for a bit of a rant... Why are there folks on this board who get all bent out of shape about what term anyone is using to describe a project? Who cares if it kind of sort of looks like a Rat Rod or Traditional or Bobber or whatever, it's a Hot Rod and damn good one. Why can't we acknowledge it for what it is and stop argueing about terminology every time something different comes along. Sure the traditionalists who started this board are feeling uneasy over builds like this but look at the ingenuity and workmanship this thing has in it. There are 100's of ideas anyone could use on there own project, and isn't that the point ??

God help you if tried to call it a Gasser... That arguement is beyond annoying !!

It's a very nice car but it doesn't really belong on the HAMB...

I can´t find a single thing that is wrong with this truck, it´s perfect. And what is more traditional than a blown hemi and a shitload of craftsmanship and ingenuity?

    Just my 2 cents .

I can´t wait to see this thing burning down a race track!

If all the H.A.M.B. had to offer was black roadsters with red wheels I wouldnt still be looking around . THANKS ! For the pictures of an incredible HOT ROD ! I think I had a T-shirt with a similar truck on it when I was little but it had a big hairy monsters arm ripped through the roof holding onto a vibrating shifter knob ! I'm sure alot of cars that are now cosidered to be famous traditional rods and customs when first introduced were different enough that they caused a couple feathers to get ruffled at the first show they pulled into ! ! !
