Well in the begining....... We run a T bucket just for fun...

Then a couple of years ago i came across this '36 Ford 4 door ,that some one cut down to a 2 door ,in a field . We deciede to build a true Drag car for the Drags. We had a Chevy 301 ci .that came out of a '32 Ford gassser that was last run in the late '60s. So with a overhaul and a lot of welding ,we came up with this....

    build thread.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289538

Had some fun with it .... But was real impressed with the 301 mill.. Ran 11.89 @ 115mph . That little motor really cooks on the top end. Never had an engine rev like that.
Soooooooooo......we decided we wanted to see what the 301 will do . So the heavy '36 (2100 pounds) is out and this is in...

yep ... its back to a T bucket.... Its gona be fully caged and safe... well.. safe enough that is :D..
The 301 is getting a work over too. New overhual.... Hilborn injection and a full race powerglide... Some 4.88 out back with some piecrust slick ...ummmmm ...cant wait...

    More to come.....

This shall be interesting. My brother ran a 301 in his '55 (early 60's). 4:88's on the street. As you stated, those little guys think nothing of 7500+ rpm.

I think you'll find that with less mass to haul that little 301 will REALLY suprise you. Keep us informed.

MADMARK...brother i like the way you think, but then again i'am about half nut's! HA! mark ORDER some industral strenght whillie bars. and may i offer some advice, a 411 gear would be perfect for your rod. WHY? the lighter the car, the less gear you need. yea i know ( to a point ) but a 411 is not realy a stock gear either. i'am just saying, and i'll see that badboy on T.D.O.D. O YEA!...POP.
