My name's Mike Minardi. I live in Round Rock, Texas and am lucky enough to have lived in Austin and the surrounding area since 1991. I am originally from central Massachusetts (Westboro).

I've been obsessed since I was a toddler with cars, trucks and motorcycles. I spent my elementary school years drawing Ed Roth inspired pictures of wheelie-ing flamethrowing monster piloted vans and chopping my Revell model car tops, sawing 4-stroke lawnmower motors in half and customizing a collection of mini-bikes, snowmobiles and motorcycles. In high school I built a hot-rod pickup truck, resurrected my dad's abandoned '69 Bonneville convertible (428!) from rotting to death in 2 feet of mud to cruise for a summer (before the frame finally gave way), and worked second shift at a service station doing repairs and pumping gas to pay for my GTO.

For the last few years Harleys and 50's cars have kept me awake at night. I own a 1950 Ford Custom sedan that I work on constantly, an Evo Electraglide customized to look like a 50's rod, and a custom, low, wide fat-fendered and flamed bike also built to have the curves and lines of a fat fender old car. They'll never be "finished."

This message board is phenomenal. I have learned an incredible amount already, have seen posts by people who are legends and I feel very fortunate to have found it. I'm still, however, looking for a way to find a 9" rear end for my car and learn enough about the glass work part of chopping a top (hell, I'm confident about the measuring and sawzall part!) but I'm havin fun looking.

extremist? I'm called this sometimes due to my temperament and "subtle" devotion to my varied hobbies - Harleys, cars, running, cycling, golf, shaving my head and tattoos

I'm married with two little girls, the youngest I've promised my Shoebox to when she's old enough to drive. I hope she forgets by then.
