I purchased a Mcleod super street pro clutch pressure plate combination. (#75224) & and the Novak Hydraulic clutch conversion kit.

The short GM throwout bearing included in the kit was nowhere near long enough & Novak advised I use the longer GM bearing,

I purchased the adjustable Mcleod throwout bearing (#16505)
which is equivalent to the longest GM bearing however I still cannot get the bearing close to the diaphragm. I am using a stock GM bell housing
( # 3899621) with the stock pivot ball and fork & tried to use another [IMG][IMG]GM fork with a kick out however it will not align up to the Novak pushrod so I am back to the original GM fork. I have maxed out the adjustment in the hydraulic pushrod & still not enough.,Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need a longer pivot ball,.....;)

Bent finger diaphragm or flat finger diaphragm? The reason I ask is because with a flat finger diaphragm, you can't use a flat faced t/o bearing. With a stock bellhousing, fork, and pivot the long round faced bearing "should" work, provided you have a flat finger diaphragm.

I'd say that 427 Sleeper nailed it.
This is what equals a GM 908092 long throw out bearing. That round face sticks out quite a bit .

I was unaware GM made two different length pivot balls for the clutch fork. I located the longer one, which equated to about 1/4 in length more, & it corrected the problem. It would still not work with the short throwout bearing supplied with the clutch/pressure plate combo from Mcleod however their adjustable one they recommended worked perfectly once I took 1 of the 3 shims out of it. I did notice the bearing face surface was considerably larger than the short bearings face. The pressure plate had the flat diaphragm fingers.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I greatly appreciate this site & the wealth of knowledge from its members.
