I've had this old hot rod Roadster for a long time. It was cobbled together back in the fifties and I've left it pretty much the way I got it. This tudor followed. me home last week. Think I will leave it alone except for possibly a different head. One can never have too much junk I guess! 20210928_151907.jpg 20210928_151658.jpg 20210729_191212.jpg

Looks like a case of the best of both worlds...congrats...mild hop up on the sedan works for me...

Did you get any vintage pics of the Hotrod back in its heyday?...good on you for keeping its ambience of the good Ole days...tell us the story of its march to Hotrod...is it an AV8?

Perhaps you already had a Thread on it...

This is what the Roadster look like when I drugged it home. It had an Oldsmobile in it at one time and when I got it it was set up for a flat head V8. Just to get it on the road I installed a probably off topic 2.3 l overhead cam Ford four-cylinder. Works good though

Directions, Economics, and timelines bring choices...but I hope your snooping around for a V8 of either of those two configs from the distant past...Since it had a Olds I might aim for that being fitting to the 50s and looking at yours the early to mid makes sense...lots of speed parts available and more than enough power to please...there's a period correct 50s Thread with lots to glean...but an old pic from its last blast way back might be the cats meow for stance and look...whatever you choose building to a specific year provides the most realistic timewarp...

Mine is 1963 ish by components within but plausibly has a post war origin in inspiration...but I won't step back...just work the 63 look and make changes to reflect same...

Yours obviously has done a 40s to 50s crawl...

By the way in the line of Oldsmobile Firepower I will share a couple links to Hambers very p***ionate about them and one is still building his nod to the vintage past...not sure what year their mills are but both these fellas breathe the p***ion of Vintage Hotrod...

  9. I'd leave the roadster alone. Keep the hood closed when your around the HAMB and it'll be cool. Spend the big bucks on the banger in the sedan. Should get you about a third of the horsepower your roadster has.

    Banger of a different Era...

Good advice...there is something else in need...its not being flaunted...I asked a question...all Hokey *** good...aka right Forum...the motor may even look period...and a tripower Motor may be in the future...time will tell it has the history...if not as is works and probably feels like 1951...

Just another note about the Roadster. I got it from my friend Troy, who's dad owned the Roadster and this 32 5 Window Coupe. Troy said it had the Oldsmobile in it when he was a little kid.

His dad is gone now and that was in the 50s so I'm sure that's history
