I figured out how to post an intro!!!! Hi,I love this site!!!!!Thanks for letting me drive. What does FNG stand for, Ford not GM ??Ha Ha. Ok,I am a 38 year old rodder from CT.Been a rodder ever since I was in 3rd grade when my Uncle picked me up from Catholic grammer school in his model A channelled roadster, loud pipes,no top and pooring rain. You should have seen the Nuns!! AWSOME.I bleed 40 weight, then use it to keep my hair back!!I got a deuce 2dr sedan, fenderless, primer and WW bias thats got a kool history.Had it since 88 and have been driving it and takin it apart ever since. It will never be DONE but I will always be happy with it!!! I've been to all the Rockabilly Rumbles and even made it to the Jolopy Jamboree at the Drive-in show,Mendon,Mass.2 hour ride there, stayed for 2 hrs, drove home in 2hrs and made it to work with 5 minutes to spare, night shift, all on a test run after a motor swap,no friend following,no cell phone or triple A either!!!That's roddin.Build it to drive it.No clean rags in my shop,I mean my house!!Im glad real rods are in now, even the geeks like my ride now,but back in the monochrome/billet 80's + 90's,they snubbed their noses up as I blew by them goin 90 on the highway, passing on the right so I could check out the kitten ridin shot gun!!!!!Now I can go to shows that they can't get in....kuz their BORING.The only thing I hate, but its cool I guess,is calling them rat rods.I don't care what it looks like, when I'm driving my 89 Celebrity cause I took apart my deuce again, and I see an old rod hoppin down the road,I smile, get the chills, and then say Yeh,he's drivin it!!!!!!!theres no better rod than that!!!You can have your trophy, let me smoke the tires!!!!! I like trading parts, not selling,I'd rather see me use it or you use it.the last time I gave a FRIEND a good deal,he sold it for big bucks on ebay 2 weeks later, thanks alot pal.I look forward to using this site, and I hope I could help someone out someday too!My other cars are a 40 chevy coupe, and a 32 vicky (made by Henry)both waiting for me to stop messin with my sedan. Thanks for reading,Mike kooldeuce@yahoo.com
Welcome Mike! I dig your lingo, man I'm cracking up over here. I've got a 25 T in pieces that I hope to be driving in any weather by next year sometime. I've gotta a lot to learn and a lot of parts to get, so we'll see. Buckle
Nice ride DIRT2,looks like mine except my top ain't down,YET,another winter coming. Thanks for the welcome
Thanks For the Welcome Bud,I've been able to keep the celebrity on the road the longest,I just can't fit the 472 cad sideways under that hood!!
Mike, cool intro and yes I'm positive we've probably crossed paths. Hope to hook up with a bunch of guys this summer. I know what you mean about people looking at our cars differently. 10 years ago when we were building our bare bones cars, even cops were pulling us over left and right. tThe billet guys would try to make fun of us and brag about their $$$ paint jobs. Now they want to kiss our a** fortunately they still don't get the idea and they never will. For us it's more about building stuff out of nothing and having a few beers. We're alot like you. Bone Daddy www.elrodshotrods.com
Bone Daddy, your right, now they take mint cars, and even new bodies, and make a fake "rat rod" out of them. And just so you know,I'm still gettin pulled over. I get,This things supposed to have fenders, right?,You got any mufflers in there?,Is this thing registered? Never got a ticket yet though,no Holsteen chasing Milner, they usually think they got something, then end up BSen with me about the car.
