    "Making do" Found on internet. I remember days like this in my yout'... when ambition was long and tools were short.

    I think the caption pretty much explains the photo...which I found on the internet.

    Actually... We did stuff even scarier than that when I was a kid.

    And if you think this is scary, you shoulda' seen some of the mile-high straight axle "g***er look" cars we cobbled together. Now those were scary! :eek::eek::eek:

    My brother actually had one of those "mile-high straight axle "g***er look" cars", a 56 Chevy but it wasn't cobbled. That thing was fast, if you could keep it pointed in a straight line... The only thing really scary tho was that it was way to fast for a street car and the front end would get really light when on the gas...

    Trust me, the ones in my area weren't like that at all! We built 'em from cast-off junk to look like the cool ones in the magazines.

    I'm talkin' pickup truck straight axles, looooong spring shackles and bald snow tires for slicks!

    Once again, long on enthusiasm but short on money, skill and common sense!

    But damn, we sure had fun! :D:eek::D
