Here's a few I snapped tonight at the host hotel. Coupla neato rides and a lot of billet and tweed. WAY too many pastel colors there though for the year 2003. Enjoy!

That modified is awesome! That's wood-grain paint, right? It would be nuts if that was wood...

I talked with that guy a few times, real nice fella, let me take some dimensions and picked his brain. The frame is 2x4 tube steel (he said that 2x3 has too much flex), motor 350 tranny 700R, column and rear end all came out of a mid 80's wagon that he got for $400. Vega steering that he got worked out last year, and aligned it so there is no bumpsteer. He made all his brackets out of plate steel. He laid the body out with cardboard using what ever dimensions he could scrounge and then used strips of mahogoney over a plywood buck. Sand and urethane over and over. I first met him at GG's in Orlando a few years ago and he was still missing the dash and seats.

He built the whole car on his screen porch on a little island off Ft Myers. Turned out I lived 2 streets over when i was building a water plant there and didnt even know he was there.

He usually flat tows to a meet behind his Honda Civic.

  6. Hell you think that is cool! I was at a car show and I found this guy standing besite his 1929 A Coupe made entirely out of wood!!! It looked way better than that modified, he too was a retired wood worker who spent over 10 years building his wooden A coupe to the exact measurements and specs of his steel A coupe even the pannel thikness is the same as the steel one. This thing is freaking amazing its all pine and been polished to a mirror finish I haven't gotten the pic developed yet but when I do I'll get it posted it was the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life!
