I'm just lurking around here Fri. morn., looking out the window, KNOWING, I'm not taking my car up there today. I've been caught in the rain many times, but I've never been able to LEAVE in the rain. Swore I was not going to another NSRA event, but got lured by a hint of something special happening (no details givin').
But the whole point of this incomprehensible ramble is, who the hell complained about Okla. being to HOT in July??? I mean good god, wouldn't the very slight chance of July Okla. rain and more daylight make for a better allround meet than this friggin' cold & rain. Seems the merchants, the trailer queens, and the ole party folks would all come out ahead, had they just left it alone. It was like this last year. Jane & I froze our****es off getting home Fri. evening, and didn't even attend Sat. Give me the sun and 100 deg. all day long, because mother natures AC takes over in that little roadster, as soon as night falls!
My only hope now is the Stray Kat has the weather it deserves. It's a better show anyhow.
    Thanks for your time, Steve.

    I wrap my**** in glass.
But I'm only here for the beer!

I get what you're sayin about the NSRA,I haven't been to an event in prolly 10 years but got asked to take a car up for someone else to sell.
Now if I can just get the damn brakes to work right.LOL

I'll be there Saturday if it's clear-er.. Since I'm a new guy and don't know any of you, if you see a purple 38 chevy coupe with wide-whites and flipper caps, flag me down, I'd like to meet some local HAMBers.

I'll be there Saturday some time, won't be able to drive the A tho.. I've heard people say they're not going to Okc anymore because of the cops. The first year, 1974?, they had it in Tulsa, the Tulsa people ran them off, so I doubt if it'll go there.

So where is everyone meeting at? I'd like to meet some HAMBers, but I don't know what tomorrow is going to be like at the house.

We went to Meridian a year or two ago, lots of D/A locals spewing rap and cochina music out of their POS's. I think we only saw maybe a dozen rods of any kind.

Man, I remember in the early 90's, it was freaking CRAZY. Thousands of people, water hoses run from the hotels to the street. Rods doing burnouts, saw a D/A local surfing atop a 28' U-haul. There was a black OHP officer that slowed down and was staring at traffic..... people hid hoses and beers..... he creeped forward then lit 'em up in the water box. The freaking crowd went NUTZ!!! I bet it was louder than a KISS concert in the 70's.

I think it was that same year, some old man was coming up from south Meridian, trying to get onto I-40, likely had no idea what was going on, some kid in an old rusty Nova hit the water box heading south and spun it around and smaked the old man in I think a Granada. Cops came, he got out trying to find a witness for his insurance, about 5,000 people didn't see anything, all looking the other direction at the time it happeend. I actually didn't see it as I was about 10 rows back in the crowd and everyone was up on their toes looking.

Rain, sleet or snow i'm rollin Sat. I always roll, good, bad or indifferent, it's the best show in town. Meridian is being widened and that is a good thing. As everyone knows that when a street project in OKC starts it takes for fricken ever. When done the cruising will be better than ever. Chuck House rules!

Today was*****py. More people were there than what I would have expected. Blew the fuse for my wipers about halfway home due to excess water coming in my faulty windshield rubber. I hope tomorrow is dryer. I'll have to pass on the Chuck House thing, because I'll have my truck in the 29 and below area. If the weather is better or I have the energy, I may try to stop by the parking lot meet with bradslowmodela's crew.

I made it out today, man it was cold. I didn't make it to the chuck house, cause the wife was perusing women's world. Anyways, there were a lot of cars, I was surprised.

What I did notice was the lack of cars with the "wow" factor. There were a couple, but nothing spectacular. Alot of bad graphics and neon paint.

I took pics of this caddy for my grandpa, who has a really nice stocker just like it.

I took this because I found a 38 that sits higher than mine in the front.... there were several that sat higher, but I didn't want to waste batteries.(mines the one with Wide Whites.)

Swap meet was a swamp meet. Colder than a grave digger's lunch bucket but some smokin hot rides.

Hey! The B-52D was still there. Looked like the ones that landed in Hanoi though...

Guess they haven't trucked it off yet, I thought they did already. The B-47 is still up in the air...

LOL This is so funny, reminds me of my dad,in the early seventies. He would bring home various cruisers, usually big block dodges, and do the "best smokin burnouts"in front of the house.HAHAHA Oh and what's with the weather,it was warm sunny t-shirt weather here.
