NSRA Street Rod Nationals (Louisville)

Just wondering whose going to be there? And if there is going to be a meet & greet?

Might as well have. NO one is going this year (self included--the salt is calling ). Even the old diehards around here pulled the plug. Seems like they haven't handed out enough vasoline the past few years in Lville....

For those that are going, have fun and I expect a full report! It will be interesting to see how much attendence is down this year.

Im not. I like the fairgrounds. Its probably hard to find a place to accomidate that many cars.

I like the place too. The attendance might be down a little because of gas prices.

I'm thinking this may finally be the one show I get to see all of... but I'll only be down Saturday and not with a car (this time). The only thing I dislike about Louisville is it's usually unbelievably hot and humid... and that's coming from a guy who used to live in Houston.

 

Gonna be a couple of us from Waco going up in our cars. Is there a particular area where Hambers will be parking?

 

I'll be there in the model A coming Thursday probably stay till Sunday.

 

Well, first I was gonna go to B-ville with 2 of my friends...that got canceled then I was gonna ride along with plowboy but I cant take that much time off work, so now im just gonna go to the nationals. Ill miss You at the there!!!! Ill try to keep up the hi-jinx in your honor.

 

In my opinion NSRA screwed up when they planted the nationals in Loiusville. it was better when it roamed around.

 

They 'planted' it in Louisville because at that time the attendence was so high on the 'average' year that Louisville was the only place big enough to hold it. Now that the attendence has dropped to a now low average they could bounce like they used to, however they foolishly signed a contract way back and then signed an extension of sorts leaving them stuck there. You can bet that it's all about the Benny. It always is. I'm sure if they looked, they coule find some place big enough to hold it with the current attendence levels.

At least this is what I've heard consistantly for years. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will tell me.

Personally, I like it in Louisville. My sister and her family live there. This makes a perfect crash pad(s) for me and my brother from Iowa to stay at for the weekend if we choose. This makes for a very low cost event. Are you kidding me? Free room and board with parking fo rthe rods a mere three miles from the fairgrounds and a chance to see family who we normally don't get to see often enough? All that and hot rods 'til you puke... Sign me up.

Minnesota at saint paul is approaching 12000 cars. and its still got room. granted its crazy on sat afternoon, but theres still lots of unused parking. My dad was there in 89 when the Nats were there.
