i will be in the "Phipps" booth inside.

I live about 45 minutes south of The 'Ville

I'd be glad to help anybody (or bunch of bodys) that need hotel reservations/etc. find places in the more affordable regions.

Also my brother-in-law makes some of the best BBQ I've licked off my fingers (and I'm a native Texan) He's got a trailer set up for events if enough folks want a good feed or we could order a large helping of "pulled pork" to DIY.

Now that I'm a retired schoolteacher I may be able to spend more than a couple of hours at the show

And if anybody is setting up in the swap meet area let me know if you've got room for a few cranks

 

As I live about 25 miles east of the Fairgrounds, I will be attending. Anyone from out of town that may need assistance let me know. I can't help but think the current state of the ecomomy and high gas prices will effect this years attendance.

We all have to meet up somewhere! I know in the past it has been by the swap meet area. Any suggestions? I have a HAMB banner to hang up.

Now that all the usual moaning and complaints have been stated
There are a LOT of HAMBERS there ... and meet over by the rail fence near the swap meet. I am not the one who sets up the HAMB meet but I have attended a few

I will not be there this year and neither will Enjenjo. I'm attendign the Oldsmobile Nationals that weekend instead.

BobK is going though and perhaps he will be parking in the same spot on the split rail fence across from the Michigan Hot Rod repair area near the swap meet. That is the area the Meet & Greet has taken place in the past. I'll PM Bob this thread.

 

I'm planning on coming down Friday around noon and leaving Sunday. My sis live there so I got free room and board for the weekend. That and my brother Lil John will be coming in from Iowa as well.

Nope that is no longer true, the locals have taken over that area with their big tents. I no longer even try to reserve that area, I damn near got my ass kicked 2 years ago by a bunch of guys with a great big trailer and a huge tent. I'm too old for that shit.

There is no offical place for a meet and greet. If someone wants to organize one, have at it.

There is a group of Hambers and RRT guys that camp along the fence but not anywhere near where we used to. They are further south, up on the hill.

I will be there but without a car that I can get in the gate.

I thought that it might well slow things down but at this time I only have a room for one night. I've called around 10 hotels now I see that they want to sell you a min 3 nights, I thought that only happened at Hot August Nights oh well I'll find something in my budget!
