Hi We just bought a 57 Chevy 3200 long bed with 235 - small window project.. We plan to make it a daily driver for our daughter. I always wanted a vintage truck and want to make it as stock as possible. Started working on it today, the engine is froze, I took the head off and it had a blown head gasket. I have tranny fluid soaking in it to loosen up the rust in one cylinder. pistons are stamped 80 or 08 not sure what that means. We would like to thank you for the great site Thomas
Thomas...welcome aboard...your pistons stamped 08 or 80 probably means its .080 over...which is kind of a weird oversize. Dont know too much about what pistons were available for 235s but maybe its 60 or 06? That makes more sense because .060 is a common oversize for many motors...good luck with your project!
Welcome aboard the HAMB - I bought a 64 T-bird convertible from a guy in Hemet - nice kinda place, pretty nice people - no complaints. Enjoy your time here Cheers.
